Kobe IV Appreciation thread

^i remember that listing because dude posted that same pair on NT but he couldn't sell them for what he wanted so he had em listed on eBay at the same time..
 
I think you picked the exception rather than the rule. You see far, far more fixed price listings than $0.99 NR auctions for shoes in the tier of the K4 Chaos. No-reserve auctions like that are usually a deal for the winning bidder...I saw a pair of lightly used 11.5 south beach 8's go for 620 in a NR auction, prob not gonna see a fixed price listing that low. Of course you'll probably dig up the one listing where a pair went for 575 or something...whatever.

I've also seen people refuse to sell their shoes for the final auction price because the cheap-o's bidding obviously worked the situation to their advantage. $545 for a deadstock pair of K4 chaos is a slam dunk IMO. If skunk 420s are worth $700, I hope to hell the K4 Chaos is worth that much or more
 
:lol: All I did was a quick search on sold listings on eBay for Chaos IVs, and that was literally the only sold Chaos IV listing that's popped in the past 3 months on eBay when I did that search. I didn't "dig up" or cherry pick anything. No Chaos IVs have sold for 4 digits on eBay, auction, fixed price, or otherwise.

That $575 isn't even the lowest priced sold listing now, this is. And admittedly, whoever won this got the steal of a lifetime, even if it's Pre-owned.

I'm not sure why you're so obsessed with the idea that Chaos IVs should consistently go for 1K+, but you're literally the only guy in the thread who's been trumpeting that idea, basing things purely off of sellers' listing prices. Are you trying to sell a pair since you're referring to people as "cheap-o's"? Did you buy a pair for 1K+ yourself? If you own a pair, are you hoping they go for more so it makes you feel better that you have a more "valuable" shoe?

Like I said, if you think they should go for 1K+, be my guest, but I'm basing things off of listings that have actually SOLD recently, not what sellers are hoping to get. dmxgod dmxgod also pointed out that exact pair of sz 10.5 Chaos IVs was even listed here on NT, and they didn't sell for what the seller had hoped to get for them. If market price isn't the price that something is actually selling for, then what is it? Chaos IVs are rare enough now that sellers can try to dictate the market a bit by setting higher prices, but that doesn't mean they're selling at those prices.

With the exception of PEs or something ultra rare like Venom IVs, Kobes have never commanded as much demand/hype as Jordans, Lebrons, rare SBs, etc, so prices for Kobes have never been crazy high for the most part. It's no shock to me that Chaos IVs would go for something in the 500-600s even though they're much rarer than say South Beach 8s because the hype/demand isn't really there except among Kobe fans/collectors.

Anyone know where the best place is to look for IV's? They came out my freshman/soph year of college when I was broke and I missed out on every drop. I'm looking for:

1. USC

2. Rice (home+away)

3. Lower Merion

4. Finals Away

5. Del Sol

I'm a size 10-10.5 (I think I can fit a 9.5 or 11 though) and the only ones I've been able to find on eBay are del sols for 230, finals away for 370 (one for 300 but they were 11s) and rice homes for 430. Is this really what they're going for now? If I have no choice I guess i'd have to pay those prices but it seems a little ridiculous. I've checked most of the consignment stores and I haven't been able to find them and my local facebook groups is just a bunch of people trying to resell the latest jordans. Thanks in ad*****

Man bro to be honest the IV's are drying up. Back then many of the cw's were HOH exclusives. I would say continue to search ebay and hopefully a steal or two may pop up. Unfortunately the prelude pack drove the prices up on many of the older kobe models due to hype. I have a feeling the prices will go down a bit but if you seen anything for decent prices go for it. Especially for your 1-3, those don't pop up often. Check Iss and NT MP's.

Aight sweet. Thanks for the confirmation. I finally found a pair of rice aways on kixify 9.8/10 cond for 280 so I pulled the trigger, but the best I can find on the final aways is 370 so I'll probably just be on the lookout for something more fair. My friend was telling me that he got his DS for msrp just two years ago
