The Official Wale Thread: Ambitions in Stores 11.1.11

It's ok to me. He may not "rap" better than Cole but he's far more entertaining.

I like The Curse of the Gifted, LoveHateThing, Heaven's Afternoon, Bricks, Clappers, 88 & Outro About Nothhing

That's more songs than I like on Born Sinner

I'm sure it was discussed when it was announced, but since this is my first time seeing it, let me just say, he's ******g tripping with that album cover.  Like really tripping.

Streamed this.

Album is better than I expected . . . still ehh overall. Some tracks ride, some tracks are corny, like Vanity.

Seems like he's stuck between whether he wants to be soulful or a mainstream success. I don't think he's found his identity as far as where he wants to be in the game.

He, and rappers in general, should stop trying to make a certain type of music and just make the music they want to/feel like making when they go in the studio.

ALBUM IS GARBAGE.....LIKE FOR REAL FOR REAL

Son said "for real for real"

Never seen anyone actually type that out online.

I use to be the biggest wale fan I knew back in 08/09 but over the last few years everything he's done has been meh for me at best. My expectations for dude are and was extremely low for this album. So I just skimmed thru the stream on iTunes and its another :smh: project from wale. I know artists are about growth and changing over time and he's making more money than ever before, but sadly I don't think we'll ever get a tape like More about Nothing from him ever again.

Yeah bro, its almost like some of us Cole fans who are SLIGHTLY dissapointed in born sinner.
Its still a good album, but it sucks to realize you aint gonna see any more of "The Warm up" type music.
Same goes for Wale. I personally liked More about Nothing 2... that was his dopest project IMO.

Wish more of his music was like that, but like you said artists change...and so does their interests. :rolleyes

Just like Ambition I'll only be purchasing 8 songs from this album, this includes the original version of Bad. No way this is better than Born Sinner.

Still waiting on an explicit version but I already like this a lot more than Ambition.

Tbh I like every song on this album, no skippables besides Clappers and Golden Salvation imo.

I think the lack of the leak is actually hurting this dude...

I would dl it to check it out but I'm not wasting my time with a clean version.

How would the lack of a leak hurt someone?
becuz admit it i'm not/your not buying wale's album off his name only or even his name and a strong single ie lotus flower bomb. if a leak was provided it could give someone a legitimate chance to listen to the music before it comes out and what you hear might be worth the purchase. A nicely timed leak of a good album can get people talking adds hype and intrigue for the release date.

This album isn't nearly as bad as y'all making it out to be.  This is for sure an improvement over Ambition.

Oh and the explicit version is out

That's why he...and every other artist this year have made their albums available for stream prior to release date.
