They look a lot more like the marketing pictures when apply baby oil, so yea I'd say that's a must do!
Put the baby oil on a toothbrush in small amounts and just work your way around the suede. That should turn out just fine

But make they fit...those laces are way too short.
That's my only gripe about the blooms....the laces are garbage. They are cheap....way too cheap for a shoe that costs that much

GLVs need slightly longer laces compared to GL3s. They probably got the 48" ropes instead of the 51".
I can't stand the MB laces either. And funny how there's nothing on the shoe to show it's an Ubiq collab. I'm all for no double branding on the heel, but at least print something on the insole?

As an aside, i've always wondered for those that go the clear plastic shoe box route, do you throw all your cardboard shoeboxes away?

I used to throw the boxes away unless a special box.
One of my buddies breaks his boxes down flat and keep them all.
I'am prob 60 in bins, and 80-90 in the boxes.
It's much easier in the bins because I can see the shoe and remember I have them lol.
Otherwise it's a pain to figure which shoe to wear while they are hiding in a box.

Anyone who can tell me the differences between Gel Lyte III and GT-2? Looking at pictures and videos, it doesn't seem like there's a sockliner on the GT-2, as well as a different sole. Is that all there is to it?
