:::2011-2012 Houston Texans Fans Thread:::

^^^ Yea I almost spazzed out hearing that on the radio (first time I've turned the radio on in years), but then I saw Andre
just talkin to the media on NFL network, so it's all good.

Well one of my friends who is also a huge Bengals and Ravens fan can cosign the sh^t out of him. I just know he has 14 interceptions since 06, and even though
the Bengals defense has sucked the majority of the last 5 years, QBs slowly stopped throwing on his side of the field. They were throwing more at Leon Hall, which
pretty much gave Hall more shots at interceptions.

Texans Draft picks signed as of today:

Rashad Carmichael (DB)
Cheta Ozougwu (DE/LB)
Shiloh Keo (DB)
Derek Newton (OT)

Hate to see Anderson go, but he was expendeble, and it'll be great to see who steps up out of Holliday, Dickerson, Maehl, and Tolliver.
It's basically 3 guys fighting for 4 spots.

^^^YES!! I was iffy on James Casey getting the go ahead to block, but if Vickers can block for Hillis, Foster should have no
drop-off whatso ever this season

Am I the only one afraid that defenses are gonna catch up to A. Foster this year? That RB window for success seems like its gets smaller and smaller every few years....

I'll check in.
Eagles fan here, BUT I was born and raised in Houston. I always find myself cheering for the Texans when it comes to the AFC.

Hope Texans have a good year.

Well as long as we don't get predictable, I don't see us having any problem. But if Kubiak gets into "play not to lose instead of play to win" mode, then for the 3 straight
year, it's gonna be a long year. Plus, if everybody is healthy, we'll have a solid rotation of 3-4 RBs to all spell each other.

It's no doubt hard to replicate a season like the one A. Foster had but like peep game said that coaching staff has to be creative.

I'm also interested in seeing what Ben Tate can bring to this offense.

My pick to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Why? I don't know.. kinda dumb probably,

. I like what they did in the draft and with Mario at LOLB, I think they will do well this year... I really want this team to do well, but their defense has been so atrocious over the years. Hope they can right the ship this year, that offense is piff doe.

defense will be better (obviously. can't get worse than last
tired.gif
) i like the pieces they've brought in. can't wait to see if mario can become that 3-4 OLB that causes pure havoc.

don't expect a drop in the offense. i know im biased but i see them winning the division. tennesee and jacksonville both stepped back (drafting rookie QB's) and although the colts are always solid, they haven't done anything to better themselves this offseason.

this is our time

My body is ready for the Super Bowl, but I'm gonna just say a deep playoff run first. I do feel like this could be our year to take the division, cause we made serious moves while
other teams either regressed or did nothing like 'do work' said. In years past we would make moves, but there would still be noticeable holes, but I feel this year we really beefed
up in all phases of the game. Now all we gotta do is win it on the field. And Lawerence Vickers is officially signed as of today if you don't already know, but Foster definitely
shouldn't have a drop-off from last season.

Nah I don't think so.  You really think that teams will stack 8 or 9 guys in the box?  Foster is also a threat in the receiving game so its pretty much pointless for teams to stack the box against us.  As long as we are creative on offense, i don't really see anything stopping Foster & co.

im so ready for the season to start.....our division is WIDE open this year....

Who knows how to make cool sigs....i want to Rep the Texans...we will stun folks this year....watch

Texans are and always will be some stone cold dookie ... Just remember what Dallas did to yall last year ... lls

And what is the Cowgirls doing this year? what true moves have they made in the offseason? They not about to do ++@# this season.....I see you are an eagles fan by your avi....thats good and all but if you dont have anything positive to say why dont you click on the back button on your browser and........

The Texans will be a force this season! LEGGGGO

^^^Exactly...the Cowboys could go 13-3 this year, but they'd still get wiped off the map immediately in the playoffs.
People in Dallas (and the media) actin like the Cowboys are head and shoulders above the Texans, but since 2002,
the Cowboys have only been marginally more successful than the Texans, but a Cowboy fan acts like they've been
winning the Super Bowl every year since 1996

Anyway, Bernard Pollard signed with the Ravens. That's pretty much the perfect team for him to go to, so he'll be
gettin back to his 09 form easily. And I have no idea how to make sigs, I barely figured out how to embed videos.

Wow, seems like NFL Network really does know as much as I thought. They pretty much said the Texans didn't
address any of their needs at all during the off season, and we will be a one dimensional team cause the run
game will suffer with the loss of Vonta Leach. They must not have been watching free agency, pretty ridiculous.

I liked the. Vickers signing (Forest Brook representing

)

WTH is going on with Ben Tate, if Ward keeps up his production I still think he get little to no snaps.

I don't know man, somebody is gonna be expendable, and with Foster the #1 guy and Ward pretty much relieving him,
Slaton seems to be the odd man out, cause I don't see the Texans getting rid of a recent 2nd round pick in Tate.

Arian Foster
Chris Ogbonnaya
Zach Pauga (FB)
Steve Slaton
Bubba Bartlett
Ben Tate
Lawrence Vickers (FB)
Derrick Ward

Those are our RBs, and assuming Ogbonnaya, Bartlett & Pauga are on the practice squad, looks like Slaton will either be looking for a job,
getting 2 carries per game, or playing special teams, but he was miserable on kick returns last year (though KR blocking was terrible too).

smh been hearin on the radio all day that reem was worked in the 1st practice today

said maehl put a stop'n go somethin serious on him almost fell on his face, and walter was makin it look easy

i think reem needs to play damn near every snap in the preseason man i dont think i can handle another 1st rd bust

Yea Ogbonnaya is a Texan, and he was on the practice squad last year too. He had a legit shot at the main roster last
year, but he just didn't show much in preseason, but he got injured during the 3rd (or 4th) preseason game. Didn't know
he was from Mo City though man.

roll.gif
they better keep Kareem at nickel if that's the case, or even put McCain or one of the rookies in front of him,
that's just ridiculous. That's messed up though. (
