I was just sitting here and thinking about how great these kicks are and how futuristic they are for the time they released in 1999.. I am starting to think these shoes are better then the Foamposite one's interms of comfort. I really like the styling of these shoes and the colors really set these shoes off. Do you guys think the Flightposite 1's are underrated? I atually think they are IMO.. These shoes are classics..

They are what they are. They dont need alot of hype. With that said, Im glad I got my pairs. Leave the hype to the foams and the absurd amt of colorways.

I'm glad they don't have any hype

I can wear them in peace without seeing a bunch of skinny jean hipsters with them on.

Hopefully Nike will retro them in the white/blue, black/red...basically all the OG ones they didn't release a three years ago. I have the silver, eggplant, gold and black.

These shoes are classics... These will never get old... I agree with what you said 100% though..

They're dope as hell. See what I said in the Ultraposite thread about the hype not catching on crazy with these. I love it. I think most of the beasts who just recently got into Foams don't realize that the Flightposite was essentially the sequel to the Foam One, it was a lighter takedown with less foam bulk that was supposed to be better performing. I think since it's not spelled out for the beasts (no "Foam" in the model name), it helps them kinda go under the radar..

OG colorways were immaculate. That Gold is one of my favorite Nike shoes ever, and I like how they've kinda duplicated the color effect on the Pine Green Foam Pros. I always wanted to see that Gold scheme applied to some Foam Ones..

They may be underrated, but I like them that way. Not everything needs to be whored out.

BTW I have that exact same lineup of Retros up there

Blacks, Eggplants, Golds... wish I had grabbed the Silvers and HOH Kidds..

Yeah compared to the Foam 1 & Pro they are underrated DUB.The kiddies didn't really hop on the FP1 retro and the FP2 retro didn't do any major numbers.I PRAY that the "beasts" stay the hell away from the FP3 as well.

Yup...I'm really glad these and the fp2s weren't that popular when they retroed, just made them cheaper for me. And there's no way Foamposites are close in comfort to the flightposite 1,2,3 or ultraposites. I still would pick any flightposite to play ball in over any sneaker Nike makes today, the cushioning and support is just so much better. Nike is really killing the Foamposite/Foamposite Pro to the point where it's not even special anymore, it's like an AF1.

The flightposite is also my favorite posite because it was part of one my personal favorite eras in Nike, the Alpha Project. The only shoe I have never owned from that time period is the Uptempo Vis Zooms. But the flightposite was always at the top of my food chain, largely because alot of folks couldnt make sense of it. People either thought they were ill when you wore them or they thought you were nuts for wearing a funny looking boot. Either way they made ya look. Still do. No mass appeal, no significant variations, or loud colorways, thats what keeps these seperate from its foam brethren. Lord knows I couldn't stomach a "South Beach" edition of these. I hope Nike doesnt re-retro these again if nothing else to keep these with the current cult following it has now. Good lookin to all those Team Posite cats though displaying their FP's and the PE's as well!

These shoes are just ill... They indeed make you turn heads everywhere you go... They are indeed a comfortable shoe...

I'm with you on the love for these but HoH did release the J. Kidd flightposite 1's and a pair of black/purples I believe. The nike air solo flights could also be referred to as the pros of flightposite 1's since they were basically a scaled down version of them(I say that loosely because they're really the poor mans wannabe version.) The first wave of flightposite 1 retros were so-so, the golds were all over the outlets, but the blacks, eggplants and silvers fared pretty well. Fp2's were a joke in terms of retail sales, but I scooped a couple for the low. I'm ready to quit if Nike retros the FP3's IMO they're the freshest joints of all time.

Def. forgot about those J Kidds. I didn't know anything about a release there because I was deployed at the time.  But I did read a while ago, there was an absurd low amount (like 70 or so) available in the J Kidds?.......In the FP 3's I had the blk/blue and the gold Battlegrounds that I should have never let go.....And those solo flights, well nothing else needs to be said about those.  But thanks for jogging my memory on those 2 FP 1's.

Dont Bring The Hypebeast Onto FP1s Now... Glad Nike Retroed Them Before The Hype Came Along...

An As Far As Underrated The DMV Was All Over Them When They Dropped But Not Too Many People Know About Them. The Silver/Black Pair Is My Favorite... Badly Need A Pair.

Love these, other than the sole problems these are one of the best shoes ever IMO

The only flightposite shoe I actually played in.  Here are some OLD pics from my collection.

FP 2 whi/bla/roy TB from Duke, FP 2 Black Carbon Fiber, FP whi/nav TB (NCAA)

Right now they are underrated, but when they first came out a lot of folks had them. As far as comfort, I'll take Flightposite One's over Foam's any day of the week.

I wish I could get my hands on another pair of the Silver FP1's

I'm assuming "underrated" in the title translates to "underhyped"?

If that's the case, keep them that way...

Been a FPI dude since they initially dropped.

no not underrated, but if they dropped some FP1's with a nice cw i can see them being beasted just like Foams
