New Jack Swing was my high school experience for the most part (1990-1994)
Honestly, it was the music that you threw on a tape before you borrowed your parents car and took some honey to some backstreet and knocked it out. It was the music I had sex to...
Let's Chill by Guy was THE song at freshman dances.
14 years old, raging hormones and slow songs? it was a wrap...
And I really wouldn't put the Gap Band in the New Jack category. They may have influenced New Jack music and toward the end some of their songs reflected it, but almost all of their hits were NOT New Jack music. Just my opinion.
Troop - All I Do is Think of You is another good one. I remember my girl in high school threw that on a mixtape for me.
New Jack City soundtrack - Color Me Badd and Christopher Williams
Silk and Shai had some cool songs
I think this post has me ready to make a 90's music mega thread for my 7,000 post...
