Champ Bailey and J. Cutler vs Philip Rivers

champ mad cause he aint going to the playoffs

that's all it is
but i don't like phillip rivers after talking *#!$ though

Why is Champ trying to be Captain Save a ......

Phillip is the LAST mofo to be talkin sheish.
Rivers wasn't talking trash to Champ, yet he is the one with the tissue box. Rivers was talking trash to Cutler, I didn't know you had toearn the right to talk trash to a crappy QB. On crappy QB to another.

Who the hell is Phillip Rivers to be talking trash? He's one of the worst QBs in the league, even Tomlinson doesn't respect him.

If it was Favre, Romo, Manning, Brady talking trash I'd understand, but Phillip Rivers? Come on.

an average player should never talk trash. please, phillip, you're an average player. shut your hole. if you were part of the defense that just stoppedthem, then u can talk. but please, don't do it on the sideline. that makes him more of a wuss.

I miss Drew Brees.

Philip is comedy sometimes though, he can't stop talkin' if his life depended on it. Perhaps a job as a politician after someone ends his footballcareer.

Just remember, we ALL know who was salty last year after their squad lost to the Pats....sportsmanship goes out the window in blowouts...

true. pats doing merimann's dance is wrong though.

Eli >>>Rivers

if you guys are going to get on rivers' for talking smack, then get on shaun phillips and matt wilhelm's too. they were right there with rivers. whatyou saw on tv doesn't necessarily mean that's all that happened. cutler could've been talking smack also, but wasn't caught on tape.
personally, i thought it was hilarious. trash talking is part of the game. i wish they showed more of it on tv.

um phillips and wilhelm are part of the D right. so they have a right to talk trash b/c they just stopped then on a 4th down.
rivers is a QB who shouldbe chilling on the sideline. if he mans up and play defense too, then ok.

Eli is a better QB than rivers. rivers team is just more talented. if you put LT on any QBs team their numbers would be up as well.

eli gets pressed about his play due to : being peyton's brother, playing in NY and requesting to be traded on draft night.

he will probably end up with a better career than rivers when its all done anyway.

i didnt say he was a great QB or anything but rivers is worse.

Yet when our players lose during the playoffs and opposing teams' players start talking trash, us SD fans get all salty.

Can't blame it all on Rivers, maybe it comes from the head coach.

Trash talking and disrespecting the team's home field is something different.

What the Patriots did is stand on the 50 yd line at Qualcomm stadium and do the Lights Out dance. That pissed LT off something else and started the"Patriots are classless" talk.

Remember when Terrell Owens (before he was a Cowboy) tried to grandstand on the Cowboys by posing on the Star after a touchdown? He was leveled by aCowboys player because that is going over the top disrespect.

Trash talking happens at ALL levels of sport. I bet Champ has teased or talked%*%* to a QB that he has pwned in the past. (i.e. Drew Brees hahaha)

Guess you missed what Tedy Bruschi had to say when he was going into the locker room after the playoff game.
I also guess you forgot that Rivers calledHobbs the sorriest corner in the league. I guess Rivers forgot that Hobbs went to the AFC Championship last season and is still on a team that's possiblygoing to make NFL history.

It's a double standard in SD. If Tom Brady had something to say to PR after that playoff loss, SD fans would be mad salty.

I mean, prior to that playoff game it's okfor Charger fans to set up Rallies andlocal bands to makesongs disrespecting Tom Brady and The Pats. As an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey has lined up and locked down plenty of guys around the league.

-- Denver's Champ Bailey

But Bailey says there was no defense for Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers' sideline taunting of Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler in the fourth quarter of Monday night's 23-3 Broncos loss in San Diego.

The video has made the rounds of the highlight shows near and far, but after an incomplete pass on fourth down in the fourth quarter, Rivers -- as well as linebackers Shaun Phillips and Matt Wilhelm -- clearly can be seen jawing at Cutler from the San Diego sideline.

But it was the Chargers quarterback who drew the Broncos' ire.

"And I don't really care for the guy, first of all," Bailey said of Rivers on Wednesday. "He's not a respectable guy right now because you talk too much trash and do this and that, but you're really not a great player in this league right now.

"You're surrounded by great players, but you're not a great player. I think he needs to understand where he stands in this league -- where he stands on his team first and foremost."

The incident was a topic of discussion among Broncos players as they gathered after the holiday to begin their workweek leading to Sunday's season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.

Teammates said Cutler certainly was not happy with what was perceived as a breach of etiquette, but publicly he was measured in his response.

"We've talked about it a little bit," Cutler said. "I'm not going to get into it. It's an unfortunate situation. They talk a lot of stuff, it got heated between the two teams. Personally, I don't think the teams like each other, which is fine. It's just going to add to it later next year and the year after that. It should be exciting."

Asked if he had ever done that to another quarterback, Cutler shook his head and said "No."

Rivers said he used no profanity and was only reacting to his defense's play.

"We get a fourth-down stop, Wilhelm and Shaun Phillips, those guys been jawing the whole game with them," Rivers told The San Diego Union-Tribune. "We get a good stop. They are jawing. I'm not anywhere involved. I come out to congratulate them on the stop. I come out to congratulate them, and while I'm out there, yeah, there is some eye contact, but I'm saying 'atta baby' to Matt Wilhelm and Shaun Phillips. Sure, there is eye contact. Maybe there is a smirk. But I am speaking to my guys. That's all that was said.

"I don't think I have to defend myself. I used no profanity, I said nothing personal to anybody on that field. I was out there playing football. We're not in a tennis match. I understand some of the frustration is they've lost four in a row to this team. People don't like losing four in a row."

Rivers also said he was surprised by Bailey's reaction, saying: "He's one guy I've always said we respect him. He's one of the top corners in the league. Out there in the game, I say very little to Champ other than if we do complete one on him -- and you don't go after the guy -- he'll look at me, I'll grin at him like, 'Hey, we got you.' It's always been a very respectful communication between me and him. That surprises me."

Broncos tight end Tony Scheffler said the incident would come up again when the Broncos face the Chargers next season and veteran cornerback Dre Bly added Rivers had not yet "earned the right to do that."

"They've got a lot of classy guys on that team," Bailey said. "He kind of represents the classless guy on that team. He's definitely lost my respect."
man all these little biatches crying cause their team sucks pipa. i dont really care if rivers sucks or not, we are in the playoffs and thats all thatcounts right know.

And about two seasons ago, the Broncos were in the AFC Championship. Someone remind me the last time we were there? Oh yeah, 1994.

Geez, I don't remember a time when crappy Jake the Snake was talking down on poor ole Drew Brees when we got served up in the last game of the 05-06season. The season we didn't make the playoffs.

Rivers called Hobbs that after the midfield dance and only after that.
I was NOT saying Charger players don't trash talk and are angels or whatever, but the event that every one is referencing when calling the Chargers "salty" and "feminine" that started the classless talk was what Hobbsand his teammates did.

I guess some SD stars put themselves in a situation where other teams feel necessary to go above and beyond in mockery of the team (i.e. Merriman, see LendaleWhite in Titans game) That shows me that they are feared and the only reason they get mocked is because they are good. I was hoping Shawne would limit hisdance to important situations, but now he does it on every sack. I only do it when I get a headshot in COD4.

And it wasn't like the Pats BEAT us up last year, a couple plays changed (McCree fall down!) and Hobbs would just be another Patriots player. This year Iam hoping for revenge against a better and seemingly invincible team.

You're right. They didn't beat us up. But with a depleted team and no weapons thatTom Brady had, they still beat us. BTW, Mcree is still amoron.

Especially with oursupposd "revenge game" early in the season, they completely annihilated us.

First thing is first, with the looks that the Chargers are going to hold the 3rd seed, and it looks likewe are going to be playing theTitans, asfans, Idon't want to get over-confident about anything. We did that last season and look what happened? Rivers has done more than Cutler, and has given it to the Bronco's and Bailey the last 4 games. I love how every body takes up for the patriots withthere antics but not for Rivers.

I bet this'll spark Rivers play tho

LOL False. Eli has 1 great receiver, 1 great TE and a very good #2 Receiver. Rivers has had 1 Great TE and 1 Great RB and POOP for WR's.

Eli's good, but if he were with the chargers he would have committed suicide by now. either or PR > Eli last year by FAR. But this year they'repretty much equal, eli has the edge. I look forward to the blossoming of both, and a healthy return to my guy shockey
