when i lived in ny, earbuds were a VERY NECESSARY for train rides...now i need them for jogging.

funny thing is my apple headphones from 2008 still bang as hard as the day i bought them and the sound quality is unmatched.

The single most comfortable thing I've ever put in my ears. Ever.

Sound quality is amazing.

The bass driver is smaller, but because they're IEMs (in ear monitors) the cone shaped ear piece

lets the bass resonate, providing a much cleaner low end without the excessively loud noise.
Do you use these for the gym?  If so, describe their durability if possible.  Do they fall out easily when running on the treadmill? or doing box jumps? etc.
I've used these to run for a week while I was waiting for my yurbuds.
They are okay to run with only if you loop the wire around your ears.
It's bearable for the most part, but they can and will fall out if you do box jumps.
I bought them specifically so that they would stay in my ears during ball, lifting, running, all of it.
They're built to go around the back of your ears. The way your ear canal is shaped, it points downward.
The headphones need to be positioned properly to stay in, meaning that they can't be pulled down by the wire while inside your ear.

No idea how I misplaced my Monster Turbines two months ago, been using my backup S4's and while I will always <3 them, I miss the balance of the turbines especially with my Fiio e7 amp.
I keep waiting for amazon to put them on sale for $50 again but its been a while, anything I can substitute them with?

(preferably more balanced than the s4).

iYen, how are the Yurbuds? I've been looking into either these or the sennheiser/adidas MX680i but want some feedback on both/either...
Which Yurbuds did you pick up and how are they holding up so far - specifically, when running?

Which is the best out of the three? M6, M9, or M16?

I assume its 16, 9, 6 considering the prices? Is there any much of a sound quality difference between the three?

I got a pair of headphones (black wire, gold tips) with a bird on the earphones, i just dont remember the name, perfect quality, stay in the ear at the gym.

I agree.I had the beats by dre tours and not only did I have to adjust all the levels to reach the sound I wanted but they went out after only a month.I bought some skullcandy titans and the quality is great and they are durable, plus waaaay cheaper

I bought the sennheiser/adidas 680 before I bought the yurbuds, but they were the headphone version.
Long story short I strongly disliked them.
When I ran they fell out sometimes, the sound quality wasn't the great for the price.
Here's the model http://www.amazon.com/Sen...id=1313558472&sr=1-3

The sound quality of the sennheisers wasn't as good as yurbuds nor as durable.
I can pretty much do anything extraneous with the yurbuds and not have them fall out.
The only time they fall out is if I accidentally hit them off when I'm running.

The sound quality is pretty good, but it's not at good as my meelectronics m16 earphones.
The meelec m16s are $30, although I got them for $15 on amazon.

The yurbuds look cheaply made(probably are) but they hold up when I'm running.
The yurbuds will get uncomfortable after a while.
For me after an hour of having em in they start to get uncomfortable.
Once you lock the special molds into your ears, they won't come out unless you force them out.

The only negative is that they don't come with a clip so you can hook it to your shirt.
I'm 5'7 so the cable is pretty long and gets caught in my arm when I'm running.
I just used a spare earphone clip to solve that problem.
If you need to buy an ear clip here's a where you can find one.
http://www.amazon.com/s/r...one+clip&x=0&y=0

If you're buying em because you need earphones that WILL NOT fall out when running, yurbuds are what you need.

Check out the amazon reviews for both if you still can't decide.

EDIT: I think the model number is CX300.
Yup, CX300s are nice, and Sennheiser is a really good brand.

I personally use the MM50iP for my iPhone 4. I use it to receive calls while running.

Wish the cords were symmetrical, though.
EDIT: I use them with Comply Tx-400 Foam Ear Tips... they never fall out. Even without any ear clips.

I have purchased the m6s, m9s, and the m16s and I honestly did not notice a significant difference in sound quality.
I tested the m9s vs the m16s and when I tested each earphones without knowing which earphone I was using I could not tell which model was which.
If I were you I'd just buy the m16s since they are on sale.

i use iBeats. no problem whatsoever. i listen to house mashups and hip hop most of the time so bass is important to me. best in ear IMO and i tried quite a few.

I need to upgrade my headphones, just don't want anything bulky during my commute

I picked up some Yurbuds a couple months ago...the sound went out on one of them so i hit them up via twitter...they sent me a new pair free of charge

as far as sound quality goes....i think you kind of need to weigh the pros and cons...for me, as much as an audiophile i am, the benefits of having earbuds that won't fall out while i'm working out or running outweigh the subpar sound quality. It's not really that they sound bad...it's just nothing special.  they sound like skullycandys.

Can someone recommend me earphones that are preferrably under $100? I'm only using them for my ipod so I don't need anything super fancy. Also, has anyone used refurbrished earphones? Are they easier to break?

Sorry to gravedig but I wanted to put my NT fam onto these earphones I've been using for a year or so now. They are made by Sony. The model # is xb50bs. They have the most bass out of any earphones I've used (beats, etc). They are 79.99 but bestbuy has them on sale for half price today. They are well worth it imo. I've bought 4 pairs so far since Christmas. I have given them away to family and they all love them. Might sound like a Sony ad lol. I just wanted to let you guys know about them.
