Are you out of your mind.

If even wildly successful HF managers get caught with their pants down during these times, then it's not a great time to learn. It's a great time to apply skills previously learned.
btw, you don't invest in volatility. You trade it. You're just going to get NT'er to lose the few shirts that they have.

I dont want to engage in a sensless battle with you. If you want to discuss we can do that.

First-off I never mentioned anything about trading.. Surely you understand the difference between investing and trading. there is a difference/

The point of this thread is to help people get there minds around investing in the market.

The tread doesn't involve trading because most of the people in the real world are not day traders. we are your average cat who has or plans on having an IRA, roth IRA, 401K, etc

my goal is to help people understand this better

If you have something to contribute then contribute. Don't come in here talking about something that nobody mentioned.

Oh yea... This is the best time to learn. I can back that up player.

Don't hae on the thread man help it grow because its a lot of people who are interested

Preach!! Let the man teach!! I would really appreciate if you were to send me a PM.. I am going to school for this, and with nothing to do! Well,  this is exactly what i should be doing! PM please

I got you on the pm. Im working on things now. I got a alittle side tracked by dude

This is a open forumn for anyone to help or contribute

Everyone asking for PM's has no idea why they want PM's. You need thousands of dollars to play with. Y'all think this dude is gonna give you some get rich quick scheme lol.

I have a question. I want to get into the S&P but everywhere I look you need like 3 g's to open an individual fund.

I have 8 grand in the bank but I don't want to risk my 3 right now.

Any alternative methods with a similar positive return to the S&P index over a fairly long period of time (5-10 yrs)?

Where are you looking? The S&P can be bought by way of index funds/ETFs. No minimums apply, just open a discount brokerage account.

Troy I said in my very first post that we are using a simulator via investopedia.

You will not need any money. Its virtual but the simulator works with the market in real time.

This is how i learned back in 07, its very accurate

If your down I'll send you the info too.

Im setting things up now

You're the one who started of by saying that the best time to learn to invest in equities is  during periods of extreme volatility.
If people want to get their minds around investing in equities, they don't need your. Or me. There are plenty of resources on the net for that.

If this is an open forum, then why not openly share? Why the PM's?
I'm interested in your methods? Please share them.

The PMs I thought were for the game set up? Probably gauging interest?

At this pace, I'll set up something

IF OP wants a simulator, then go paper money TOS.  It's more of an options geared platform but you get the full fledged suite.
