NBA Fan All-Star Voting is a JOKE...

youre joking right?
Not at all.

People can say what they want if he should have started certain years BUT that doesn't mean he shouldn't have been an all star AT ALL in those years.

well ill say it dude should not have been an all-star in 2003 end of discussion. he played 15 games up to that point and didnt deserve it whatsoever.

I agree with the subject of this post though.

The fact that certain players are ahead & behind of others & the fact that Richard Jefferson's namde has not even been mentioned once on that list.

youre joking right? because he was voted in during mjs last year where he didnt even play much the first half of the season.

Exactly. Or the time he averaged 15 points in Toronto and still got in after tanking.

I agree this is nothing but a popularity contest if you're well known you're getting voted in shaq hasn't done anything at all this season and hehas a good chance at being the starting center for the eastern conf which is baloney im dissappointed in d-wade too he hasn't done much either

Bynum is definitely on the rise but he wasn't that good in the beginning of the season and started behind Kwame. He also had little playing time in thebeginning as well. He will be an All-Star sometime in his career but not this year.

Arenas should not be on there let alone Billups, Joe Johnson and AI.

All Pro Bowl and All Star voting is a complete joke. Many people should not be on that list

The time he avg'd 16 points with Toronto was when he was traded in December. When he went to the Nets in December, he avg'dgreat numbers, stats, & feats getting him to the All Star game in Feb. I didn't know the all star game had the starters in December.

You're right, putting up two months of good numbers totally forgives a subpar year, not to mention completely quitting on your team. I guess when yourname is Vince Carter you can get away with it.

at ppl saying chinese votes will make that much of a difference. actually, a bunch of chinese people are actual NBA fans who vote for their favoriteplayers regardless of race.

why are y'all mad? the games are paid by the fans. we are paying the athletes. so it's their right in who they want to choose.

sure tmac or a few other players don't deserve to play in the games this yr. but most of the voters do.

Erick Dampier should not be ahead of most of the centers of the list there.

At least Baron is getting up there, I still don't think he'll make the team though, too many guards...

And Yi isn't even gonna make the team, he's too far behind. He probably would've made it if he was on the list, instead of being a write-in.

Carmelo Anthony, Denver, 767,722
As long as this man beats out and starts over tim duncan and dirk nowitzki, and that lame*#!# shawn marion, then the fans can vote for shawn kempand his kids to fill the rest of the spots on both teams for all I care.

This makes me wonder if some fools on this board even know what a basketball is...I'll agree with the Arenas part of the statement becausehe's hurt, but you should be slapped profusely for the rest of the statement...

Yes, it is a joke that the fans get to vote at this point. Alot of undeserving cats get voted in(ala Wade, T-Mac,etc. this season) and dudes like Kaman, Paul, etc. being left out. The coaches usually do a decent job of picking though, and I agree the rosters should be expanded to 15 would get a few more deservingguys in the game...

Sorry but this year, I'd have to disagree. Kaman is a beast this year. 18 pts, 14 reb. and 3 blks a game. Better FG% and FT% than Camby as well.

I don't know why people get upset each and every year about the voting. Kobe, T-Mac, Duncan, Yao, Garnett, LeBron, Wade and a few others will always getthe most votes until the day they retire. There are only a couple of open slots in the West every year and a lot of players will be left out. Say Kobe andT-mac will start. That leaves Tony Parker, CP3, Deron Williams, Brandon Roy, Baron Davis, Ginobili, Nash and Iverson possibly for the other four spots inreserve. The West is so tough that it's debatable every year as to who should be in or out on the roster.

The All Star game is supposed to be ENTERTAINING. So with that said, I don't want to see Parker in there. I'm mad as hell Softie McGrady is up there, and my dude A.I. is 4th. NAsh should be there of course, but in my estimation as a reserve. Once again, it should be an ENTERTAINING game, and last year washorrible. I didn't even see the second half.

My biggest issue is with these players: Wade, McGrady, and Arenas.

Exactly..you people act like your surprised about the results when you really know why its happening. And I don't even know why people are fussingover the bottom ringers in the voting, when they are so far behind in votes they don't even got a chance to get voted in.

How many players are there from China in the NBA? There's two significant ones: Yao and Yi.

How many players are there from the US in the NBA? A lot.

Who has the bigger population, China or the US?

You don't think that makes a difference? There's a reason why Yao is consistently has a huge vote total, and it isn't because he's one ofthe two best players in the league. It's because he's from China.

Demographics is huge.
