Who is the best PG in the league right now?

Do people not understand what "right now" means?
This isn't talking about in general, number of rings, number of MVPS, etc... this is talking about today, in the NBA, who is the #1 PG...

People not saying CP3...

Has Kidd had a better career than CP3 so far? Yep.
Has Nash had a better career than CP3 so far? Yep.

Are either of them, right now, TODAY, better than CP3? I don't think so.

I don't think CP3 nor Nash play better defense than guys like Baron Davis or Deron Williams.

From a purely offensive standpoint, Steve Nash is clearly the best point guard in the league. The manner in which he facilitates the Suns offense iscomparable to none. Jason Kidd would be 2nd on that list.

But from an overall standpoint, the guys that play on both ends are more impressive. It doesn't matter if you're killing it on offense. If you'rea defensive liability (a la Nash), you're losing some points in my eyes.

Point guard is just the position they play. The game is basketball.

As of today Nash is averaging 17.5ppg, 12.4 apg, 3.7 rpg.

He's also shooting a higher FG, FT and 3pt (much higher) percentages.
Paul is scoring more but I would rather have my PG score less and dish more.

Phoenix also has a better record and is leading their division. There's no way I would take Paul over Nash.

Calderon, if he would play 35 minutes he would kill it. Get like 20 minutes or less and does like 13 pts 10+ assists and like 6-7 rebs.

Exactly, Baron plays great defense as well as offense, something CP3 or Nash can not do.
You guys forgetting about Boom Dizzle

People have their own opinion, nothing you can do about that.You need to give better proof on why you think CP is better, not just stating that he is.

I think Nash is better or on the same level as CP him TODAY.
PPG = 5 pts difference in CP's favor.
APG = 2-3 assist advantage for Nash
FG% = Nash takes it by 2%
FT% = 1% difference in Nash's favor
3pt made = Nash by 1
3pt % = Nash by 8%
Reb = same
TO = about the same
SPG = 2 by CP
PT = Nash plays 3 minutes less on the average

Just by looking at those stats this season, can you really blame people for choosing Nash over CP? Their pretty much even, even their teams have the similarrecords.
So just relax and accept what others have to say.

It's funny how this was a pretty hot topic before koolbar decided to post stats.

People are like, "*** that, I'm not discussing numbers..."

I am biased, but who cares. My vote goes to the PG that guarded Kobe better than anybody I have seen recently.

Yawn. Still Chris Paul.

Just curious, how many Hornets games have you guys seen? I know for a fact they've been on national television exactly zero times this season.

From a purely offensive standpoint, Steve Nash is clearly the best point guard in the league. The manner in which he facilitates the Suns offense is comparable to none. Jason Kidd would be 2nd on that list.
I disagree.

nash, paul, billups, kidd, then b. davis. chris paul is great but we've yet to see him in the playoffs so until then im sticking with nash. nash has got togo to the finals this yr he's not gettin any younger

Do you mean right now as in right now in this season or right now at current standing in his career, but not total career?

If you mean as far as best floor general in the nba right now, then I'd say Chris Paul.

If you mean current standing in his career, Jason Kidd.

I've got the League Pass so I've seen Paul numerous times. He's good and I'm really excited to see him and Deron improve, but I'm stilltaking Nash. Even if the numbers didn't speak for themselves I don't think anyone can a better job than Nash in Phoenix, but I can definitely see Nashfilling in in NO and doing as good a job as Paul.

At this very moment Nash is the best pure point guard in this league.Chris Paul is close but nobody sees the court better than Nash.

For those who are saying Roy, the question wasn't best shooting gaurd who is forced to play point.
