OFFICIAL THE WIRE THREAD.. ''The game is the game"

He's talking about Nick Sobotka.
Sergei's a tall dude too.

*shrugs*

Based on everything I could find online over the last few days about this, don't get too excited, especially about a Blu Ray release. It ain't happening.

David Simon is on record saying they didn't film it in HD. A Blu Ray would have come out by now.

I've said it before, but I don't care if it's still 4:3, I'll take a blu ray collection with 1 disc per season. The DVD set is a pain with all those damn discs.

he was basically saying he wanted to retain the gritty feel

but there's the hd remaster coming which already undermines that

blu ray has to follow

the wire caught fire late

they're not gonna pass this money up

The Wire isn't catching any more fire no than it was a few years ago. A Blu Ray would have sold three years ago as well as it would now. No reason to not release it back then. It ain't happening.

This.

The storage capacity of a BD is so much more convenient than a DVD. That combined with improved sound and visual quality. There's some pretty impressive remastered shows and films on Blu-ray. (There's some bad ones too though.)

Does Hd change the storyline? I get it, but I don't. Like if I already had the seasons I wouldn't care, but since I don't id drop the extra five a season for hd...like why not.

As far as season 2... It was cool, not great.
Important things:

The Greek
Stringer 'going straight'
Deangelo dying
Avon getting out...well about to get out

I think that's it.

Unless I was committed, I would skip over season 2 upon rewatching.

Season 4 :wow:

3>5=1>2

Season 2 is essential to the entire series - you find out who the real kingpin of Bmore is and you see what causes a fatal rift between Stringer and Avon, you also see how a stained glass window leads to alot of misfortunes for Frank.

Skip and you're going to miss a lot of character development

Season 5 was the most disappointing for me. Felt rushed and that's due to HBO's budget which allowed for 10 episodes instead of 12.

ziggy was one of the most annoying, easy to hate characters i've ever seen. Wished he was real so I could've murdered him.
i agree, i thought hwas even MORE annoying on Generation Kill.  I cant stand that actor.

McNaulty, Mike, Stringer, Omar, Chris

Yea, I certainly wouldn't recommend a first time viewer to skip season 2.

But for me, once was enough unless I'm trying to go back and catch every last detail. I understood all the major plot points
