Finally got home to see the last couple minutes.

How the D look? How did Shaq look?

Standouts tonight?

Edit: Heard the OL was bad?

Shaq is a MAN ******... i mean dude is 18 years old 6'2'' 230... was all over the field..

Our O-line needs help.. and needs help fast (lsu next week)..

Keith Price, Mickens, ASJ, Crichton, Williams, Shirley, Trufant, all stood out to me..

That Crichton hit to re-force the fumble was :HATTTTTTT

Hopefully Callier comes back next week and its not a serious knee injury.

Good to hear Shaq did his thing

bad to hear the OL talk was legit, worse than last year? I would hope Price finally being healthy his legs could offset the line a little

Shirley, a name I'm glad to hear

Too pumped for next weekend

Maannn....It was all pretty underwhelming, really.

They started off crisp and methodical and you would've thought the offense was going to put up 40-50 points. I don't know if it was just the line, but Sankey doesn't look that good and I hope Callier gets back soon.

The O-line was not very good Pabs. Missed a few blitz pickups where they have one guy coming off a double way too late while he turns around to watch Price get sacked/hit.

The defense was ok. They seem to have a focus on stripping and going after the ball, which is great and you can see all 11 trying to rally to the ball on every play, but I would still like to see more aggression. They were up to make tons of plays but seemed hesitant to lower the boom. At least they were in position.

Trufant looked good and aside from one missed tackle, Sean Parker looks really good. Defense is a work in progress and I think they'll only continue to get better because of the solid leadership, but I'm worried about the O-line and the running backs.

Yeah I guess things really went downhill when Riva and Callier got injured.

The positives on the secondary are good to hear, sounds like they stood out the most over the LB's and DL.

I just hope next week is somewhat close, that's alot to put on the passing game and Price with those guys out

I went last night and i'm still recovering (it's 1:30pm right now)

SDSU looked completely outclassed that first half. Even though UW played like boo-boo in the 2nd, I still think the score made it seem closer than what it was.

Good:
Shaq looked as good as advertised. Physically he stands out at 18 years old compared to anyone on the field. Would've loved to see him in more aggressive blitz packages (I don't think he rushed once) and he did get stuck on blocks. I'm sure both of those will change in the next month.
Kasen also looked like a man among boys. The PI penalty that away his long TD was garbage, but I was impressed at how that TD came: broken play, he and Keith on same page via eye contact, Kasen breaks deep and positions himself for the catch. Very mature play
Parker plays all over the place. Played well at LOS against the run and in blitz packages

Bad:
Both lines got pushed around by an SDSU that wasn't very big on paper. Shirley flew around, but he seemed to be pushed far out of the pocket, and got his "sacks"/TFL because Katz was quick to leave the pocket for runs.
Timu still looks basura. He missed several tackles because he didn't breakdown properly and bounced off a couple when he was squared up. Even the fumble he forced was suspect. He was basically cleaning up the play and arm tackling the RB.
Tre Watson looked unimpressive and overmatched at times

I wasn't as impressed w/ Sankey as others. There were several runs where he didn't read the hole correctly and gained 4 when he could've had 8-15. I still like his running style though. Film study and more confidence in the system should help this asap though.

Forgot to add:
I've been excited about this guy since I saw him practice last year as a true frosh: Travis Feeney.
He was the scout team MVP last year as a redshirt frosh and he looked good. He still looks a little out of position at times because of his position change to OLB, but his athleticism is very noticeable on the field.

I'm also hoping/predicting that we see more of Marcus Peters this year. Possibly jumping over Watson AND Ducre on the depth chart

Corndog I totally agree Timu is the biggest waste of space on the field

Feeney was the one who caused the fumble on Katz if I'm not mistaken... like the kid a lot

Disappointed that we are already dinged up, would like to see our full "healthy" squad play against LSU next week. With that said I'm still playing the under at 22.5 points next week..

LETS GO DAWGS

Punting has been beyond horrid.

and Sean Parker is getting destroyed

i can't take anything positive away from the LSU game.. other than I CAN NOT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR.

welp.. lets regain our focus and beat Portland State

Should be a bounce back game today. I'm just hoping we can find some good offensive rhythm the first 3 quarters, let the starters rest and avoid injuries.

That Stanford game after the bye is a MUST win in my opinion just to keep morale up. I'm scared that the post traumatic depression after the LSU blowout would only be multiplied if we take those 3 losses in a row against Stanford, Oregon and USC. Could get ugly for such a young team.

Sounds like it's being assumed that Will Conroy will sign with Minnesota. Pretty cool. Reuniting with Brandon Roy.

Hopefully he impresses and makes the final roster. Always enjoyed his game, but Minnesota has a plethora of guards.
