Most surprising NFL bust

If you watched Mike Williams week in and week out in college, you would not be surprised at how Mike Williams panned out. I can't believe how many peoplewere blinded by the fact he couldn't run routes and couldn't block downfield.

Freddie had a decent career up until that super bowl. And I don't think his hype was big when he came out of UCLA, so no he's not a bust. A bsut issomebody who is super hyped up out of college and once they get to the nfl, they totally bomb. Freddie was picked before Freddie Mitchell was picked beforeReggie Wayne, Chad Johnson and Steve Smith

I got that from Wikipedia.
However, he was drafted ahead of...
Edgerrin James
Ricky Williams
Torry Holt
Champ Bailey
Jevon Kearse
Chris McAlister
if you think about it, the Bengals are still paying for the bone head mistakes they made in drafts many years ago

@ leaving all that talent on the board to take Akili Smith. I pay attention to football during that draft, was Akili Smith the business like that atOregon?

He only played one full year, but he threw over 30 TD passes in 11 games. I know he had some problems off the field, too. He wasn't 3rd pick good,though... toooo much hype.

Old School for me Andre Ware- I swore lions would win all thru the 90's

America picks Shuler ... twice

Heath Shuler is still losing football games in Washington D.C.

The quarterback-turned-congressman threw two interceptions Monday in the Longest Yard Football Classic, a charity game that pits members of Congress against a Capitol Police team. The North Carolina Democrat's "Mean Machine" team was shut out 28-0 by the "Guards," but D.C. football fans weren't howling for Shuler's head this time around - the game raised more than $30,000 for the families of officers killed in the line of duty.

"We want to thank all those guards that keep us safe and keep us healthy, and every so often, kick our butts," Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.), one of the annual game's founders, told Roll Call last week.

Despite the loss, Shuler - a Heisman finalist at Tennessee before he became one of the NFL's biggest busts of the 1990s - said he enjoyed the competition.

"It's kind of like being in the backyard, playing with your friends," Shuler said.

Like his years with the ********, Shuler didn't have a lot of talent around him. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) smoked cigarettes during much of the game.

Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) said the differences between the two teams was quite obvious.

"They're fast," Shuster said. "They're stronger. Younger. Smarter."

here some of my picks...

In terms of suprise bust, Desmond Howard.

Wasnt he Super Bowl MVP?

Carter had the misfortinue of havin the ACL injury the idea of dudes comming back at 100% was unheard of till about 2001

Benson isnt horrible I told my dad I wanted Caddy and if Benson is going to get hur on the regular we should have gotten the better runner.
to me too much mileage on his body.
Enis was terrible
Terrell still makes me shake my head. Its as if after his rookie year he gave up on being an NFL player.

But the Bears make terrible decisions on the regular

Think about this
2007 Greg Olsen TE Miami 31
2006 No Pick -- -- --
2005 Cedric Benson RB Texas 4
2004 Tommie Harris DT Oklahoma 14
2003 Michael Haynes DE Penn State 14
Rex Grossman QB Florida 22
2002 Marc Colombo OT Boston College 29
2001 David Terrell WR Michigan 8
2000 Brian Urlacher LB New Mexico 9
1999 Cade McNown QB UCLA 12
1998 Curtis Enis RB Penn State 5
1997 No Pick -- --

Harris and Urlacher are the only decent players in 10 years?

^^Olsen ain't bad, he's just been sharing with Clark. If you guys had a QB and Olsen was featured, he'd be pretty good.

Larry Brown was once a Super Bowl MVP as well.

Madden 2004, David Terrell used to win me stupid money. I had him at wideout with Marty Booker on the opposite side, and Desmond Clark @ TE. With kordell atthe helm too.

David Terrell never EVER dropped a ball for me in thatgame. I had too much speed on that field

The same can't be said about him in real life unfortunately

He showed up in Denver and busted out a 4.8 forty and that was the end of his dream.

I will agree that this "2 for 1 special" is the winner. Thank you Matt Millen.

WOW!!! Didn't he run a 4.28 forty in the combine. He was so good but those injuries killed him! and to think we could have had Andre Johnson who was picked right after him.
