Yah I was a bit surprised they used the Z06 instead of the ZR1. Maybe they didn't have one on hand?

The new GT-R is not to be messed with. The ZR-1 would have been playing the catch up game but it would have it in the long run. I have no clue why they had the Cayman and 1 series in there.

I don't think it was meant to compete with the big boys but more like to see how it competes against each other along with the Lotus Evora.

Like he said at the beginning this is not a true test. Some stuff is sketchy in the video. Shouldt the LFA be faster.

LFA is slower than the older GT-R in the 1/4 mile if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure the LFA can beat the old GTR in the quarter mile but the new 2012 GTR can beat the LFA.

The cars were brought together for a Driver's Car competition that the Ferrari 458 won. MT put together that drag race just for fun.

The Mustang (especially the Boss 302) is a straight line animal. That's what muscle cars have over a lot of other sports cars, they have huge engines which mean they can put down very strong straight line times.
The Lotus has nowhere near the power of the Mustang. It uses a supercharged Toyota V6 which only puts down 345, the Boss 302 puts down almost 100hp more at 444 with a lot more torque.

Well to be fair Mustangs are supposed to be good in the a straight line, put it on the course against the Lotus and it'll lose easily.

I read that this weekend. The 458, GTR and GT3 RS is pretty much what I expected to be on the top 3 but I am really surprised at how well the Cayman R did taking 4th place, I think the drivers loved and enjoyed it so much that they were even thinking it should have gotten a higher place. I've always loved the car and this just made me more in-love with it. Hmm....

Think again. The Stang beat the Lotus around Laguna Seca as well.

The Mustang might not be a great handling car but honestly, the Lotus isn't even a performance car. It's more of a grand tourer with comfort in mind than actual track performance. Kind of like the Maserati Granturismo and some Aston Martins.
