Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained (a Spaghetti Western) scheduled for release Christmas 2012

Yeah...it was like she passed for white to him, so she acted like she wasn't a part of any of that. Out of sight, out of mind to her. :smh:
Oh, and the soundtrack was awesome.
You can listen to it all here.
I know I lost it when a certain artist starting blasting in the theater. :nerd:

I turned into a stereotype when Rozay came on.....:smh:

I'm usually love Tarantino's work, but this film really did not do it for me. To this day, I don't understand his obsession with the "N word". He has been sneaking it into a bunch of his films since Pulp Fiction.

I got hype as hell when the Pac song came on with "Expect *****! Like you expect Jesus. I'm coming!"

I'm so glad this movie is sparking discussion on both sides. I just hope both sides watch the film cause the discussion will get nowhere with 1 person who saw the film vs. Another who didn't. If you don't want to support wait 2 weeks and find a torrent

A movie about slavery and you're surprised about the usage of the "N word"?

Kill Bill reference?
Did the shootout scene in this movie when they came out of the door and fill the stairs remind anyone else of Kill Bill Vol. 1 just with guns instead of swords?

Of course I was expecting it in THIS movie, and it being Quentin Tarantino I was expecting it to the extreme, but others like Pulp Fiction where Quentin's character just said it for no other reason than just to say it( "Dead N**** storage" scene). Even in Inglorious Bastards he threw it in here and there. I've been watching his movies since I was a kid and seeing this movie almost makes me think he made it just to get away with saying it 100's of times. Im a fan of his btw.

@I realize this is NT......same individual's in here, repeating themselve's.As if their campaigning against a rival and rival was backed by 40acres.....moving right along.

If all the slaves had revolted they would've lost, you understand that right?
No,it would of been in our favor because we out numbered white's by alot, even with arm's we would of had the advantage because there's strength in numbers. There was a revolt in in the territory that is now known as New Orleans with a few French slave owner's families fallen victim to a slave revolt before Nat Turner's event and the slave's there dominated that area for a few week's.Where they went wrong is with the fact that the unity wasn't as solid as it should of been, not every slave brave enough to take a stand and die for it ,and that lead to them sending in reinforcements. The only good ls things that came out of that were the slave's that didn't get caught made a home in the Llouisiana Bayou, the Maroons people and also it let white slave owner's know that not only can we think but we can turn those thoughts into action that might not be so good for you.

So you're not mad about him using it in this movie....but you're mad he used it before......thus you being mad about him using it now as a way just to use it even tho you said you would expect it in this movie?....

.............Wait I'm confused. Are we wearing the bags or not?

lmao that confused the hell out of me. Naw im not mad. I never said I was. I just said I don't understand his obsession with the word.

Wait a minute, what kinda fantasy land are certain people in this country living in? The Native Americans outnumbered white people in this country, they were exterminated light work. It was the most successful documented genocide in human history and you think black slaves wouldve been successful.

And this notion that black slaves outnumbered white people is laughable at best. Even today hundreds of years later black people don't outnumber whites. Isn't this country like 12-18 percent black? :nerd:

The only argument you could make is more slave should OF gone on suicide missions. Rather die than become a slave type steez.

Thank You, I'm only 16 and I understand this.

YERP, there were scenes in this that reminded me of Kill Bill. The scene where they were all dressed in black walking toward the house after the funeral kinda reminded me of kill bil.

other Kill Bill reference was when Django said "every dark face in here should probably leave now. except you stephen, you stay right where you are." Same **** Beatrix told Sofie after she ****** up the Crazy 88...

“This had to be Django’s journey from beginning to end. It had to be an odyssey. As Django and Schultz traverse America to get to Broomhilda. At one point Harvey was talking about splitting it up [into two films]. And I said, ‘No, it won’t work here.’ You have to follow Django’s journey to the end. There are so many emotions – there’s the action adventure, the gallows humor comedy that runs through it, there’s the pain of the story, there’s the catharsis, there’s the suspense, and hopefully at the end there’s cheering, if the audience isn’t cheering then I haven’t done my job. That I got that cheer at the end was the biggest issue. As far of the pain of the story I could have gone further. I wanted to show more, to show how bad it was. But I also don’t want to traumatize the audience to the point that they aren’t where I need them to be in the last reel.”

*crosses fingers for the extended edition*

Just came back from the movies.

Cool lil action flick.

Lots of gratuitous violence, nice cinematography and a few laughs.
