that can't be the base model....with a wide body kit and a spoiler. i dont doubt that it could be stock on a certain version of the model....but it aint the standard stock model widely available

its the AMG model of the coupe so it should be compared with the redesigned M COUPE version of the 3...but this is something that NT car threads have been doing for years and it shows no sign of stopping...

Im gonna be honest.... not feeling the exterior too much. Its ok. But i like the benz better. The Lexus IS is still in its 2nd generation but the 3rd will be releasing in 2012....

But i still think the current IS looks better than that. Just my opinion.

I rather the BMW 3 series coupe over the Sedan... (

im sure they wont dissapoint in the coupe. Audi A4 never disappoints me.

It's not really comparing apples to oranges. The OP said the new 3-Series puts the C-Class to shame so I posted a stock C-Class that you can walk into any dealership and order. Obviously the fair comparison to the new regular 3-Series would be what's pictured below.

I agree with you, it still looks good and not outdated 6 years later. I might be a bit biased though.

The new C-Class Coupe is pretty nice and the interior is even nicer. I love the bucket-like seats in the back.

Exterior im not impressed with.

I love the stock, non-AMG, regular old C-class.  I think from an exterior stand point that redesign is gorgeous.  Would rather have a new C then the new 3. 

Would probably take a 2011 3series though over either lol
 
I am disappoint, looks like a condensed version of the F10. The M3 variant should look nice though.

ok sir...if thats how you feel then fine...but clearly your posting a sporty coupe top of the line version of a car with rims, kit, carbon fiber accents etc and comparing it to a base model sedan...i didnt even know it was the BLACK SERIES

it still looks good, prolly just takes time to getting use to, everybody is guilty of this when new models drop.

the new a6 though....wow.
 
It just doesn't do it for me anymore. When I first saw the current gen A5/S5, it was love at first sight. The new gen, not so much. I'll check it out in person at the LA Autoshow next month but it just doesn't look as good as the current one.

i said the same thing about the new 5 series..........now i think the new 5 is better than the old gen

between the 2012 rs5 and 2012 m5 it all comes down to the test drives both cars look awesome
 
The front fascia is slightly better on that one, less busy but does it have one fog light? The bottom part of the grill still looks weird and awkward to me. Headlights are a bit too small for my liking too, it's a squinting version of the new Chrysler 300. They should have modified the R8 headlights and that would be much better. The RS could use some side skirts as well. Also, the S5 now has no more V8.

The new M5 I like. I like the headlights, the lines on the hood, even the side vents. It's a nice looking car and not to mention it will perform as well.
 
AI posted the RS5 which doesn't have fogs (current or next gen). I posted a pic of the next gen S5.
 
That round plastic thing on the bottom right grill on the RS5 is off-putting, so random. Still, the S5 was already disappointing in power compare to the others in the price range and now it gets a supercharged V6 instead of last gens V8 so that is 20 HP less.
