Corolla changes every 5 years. BMW changes the 3-series every 5-6 years too it's just that their mid-cycle style changes are bigger than others.
Also, this pic makes the new 3-series look much better. Still not very impressive though, looks so much bigger and wider and longer.

Looking around for pics, the car doesn't really look as bad. The pics posted were just terrible.

BMW 3 series is the softest looking luxury sedan out of them all. A minor face and rear lift doesn't change that.
