Official Jazz thread

Sad how many Masters are passing - we have to cherish them while they are still here with us . Seriously .

Here’s one from Wayne Shorter (who passed away this year) , with one of my teachers , Mr. Reginald Workman on bass . Reggie’s a great guy and if anyone has a chance to see him live - you should do yourself the favor and go . Coltrane sideman (Live at the Village Vanguard album + more) , and a Jazz Messenger in Art Blakey’s band - not to mention a billion other recordings like Wayne Shorter’s here :

I’ve been hanging at Ornithology in Brooklyn , if anyone’s ever in town swing by - cover is $5 max and you can catch some of the best modern day players in the world . Come say what’s up - make sure to dodge the hipsters and I’ll be somewhere in the back with a Dodger fitted cap haha

Really though this music is meant to be enjoyed live , not on hold with customer service or in an elevator . Go to your local bar or venue when people are playing and support this music and it’s musicians . It can really open your mind and change your life

Happy 4th
