Been really getting into Kenny Barron lately.. the more I listen the more he's becoming one of my all-time favorite pianists

RIP Dilla.... You are sorely missed. I know it's not jazz, but I don't think I'm derailing the thread by posting this. I've been listening to this lost scrolls a lot. Also posted the link to listen to an feature about how Dilla's music & record collection was reunited with his mom & how we're benefiting from it by getting new music/releases...

Terence Blanchard - Let's Get Lost (ft. Diana Krall) & On The Sunny Side of the Street (ft. Cassandra Wilson)

In the context of the concert, the song was a light moment (I think it might've even been impromptu moment). Sometimes the best moments in music are when the performance is flawed (yet raw) or when a mistake occurs.
Case in point, when Aretha Franklin is singing the outro of You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman on the studio version (as the song is fading out), he voice goes hoarse. The producers & sound engineers argued about redoing the song because of that but I think it makes the song. In fact, if I hear the song, I have to listen to the whole thing because I wait for that part.

Nice bump...
This is a great album & very hard to find now. McGriff took his quintet to play at Chicago's Cook county jail in '72. He recorded the concert & it went so well, he put it out on record. Great version of this song which was sampled by A Tribe Called Quest.
