lol you give that guy way more credit than what he deserves he is so overrated the only semi decent artists that have emerged from the 2000s are kanye kendrick and jay electronica and all others are either biting off of kanye or wayne...or somebody else..

Agree with Sonunox. Cudi has definitely gotten a pass for not being able to sing nor rap well because he's "different". No he's just bad.
Forgot who said it in this thread, but this album did not turn out to be better than SelfMade 2 which was solid from top to bottom.

This, more or less. I maintain that they should have either
a) Included more tracks.
b) Not released all of the best songs as singles.
Not sure why I had to sit through two pushbacks for this, really. It's good music, but nothing spectacular.

So that's what it's called now? Cudi is MUMBLING about drugs and nonsense. Sean is at least audible.
Cyhi is plenty better than Cudi. His verse on "Rise" from Self Made 1 is fire. Cudi hasn't been nice since like 2008 (whenever his first mixtape was)
To me, Cudi mumbling + badly off-key "singing" = Big Sean pre-teen voice flow. That leaves CyHi by default, which is like winning a perfect attendance award for just being there.

just listened to it, i am under whelmed with this as well.
a few stand out tracks on it for sure, but i'm surprised a lot of these records made the cut.
i liked bliss quite a bit, i was really impressed with TT.

Tracks 1-6: 9/10
Tracks 7-12: 4/10 or worse
I've almost never seen an album change up like this at the halfway point.

kid cudi can't rap his way outta a wet paper bag, so if someone values lyrics over that stuff cudi does over a mic then they aint gonna agree with you.

i searched cruel summer on youtube. i clicked on the second video for "the one" posted by a yung jules. its not really "the one" but i deadass enjoyed this amateur rappers song more than anything on this album. sad times for hip hop right now.

how is my way horrible? the original argument was whos presence on the album is worse. i was comparing what they do. im not saying big sean is worse because he doesn't do what cudi does. im saying cudi's multiple talents make up for his lack of raps and because of that, i feel he makes better music. cudi's song to me is better and more enjoyable than than most the verses Big Sean spit. I can reverse what you said.. if i value artistic talent over Big Sean's limited rapping ability, then im not going to agree with others

Y'all hate on CyHi alot on here. Dudes voice is awkward (especially considering he's from Atlanta) but I rather hear him than listen to Big Sean's corny punchline, no direction having verses.

If you mostly listen to hip hop, chances are you won't mess with Cudi like that. He isn't your typical rapper... He's got his own style. When you listen to him you're not going to get your typical 3 verses & hook like with most artists, your going to get the rapping, the mumbling, the singing, the dark / different beats... You basically have to expect the "other" when it comes to Cudi's music & most hip hop purists can't rock with that.

Mase did his thing considering. I could definitely see some Mase/Ye if Ye can get the old Mase back.
As far as Cudi, he's different? His own lane? Maybe if it was 2002 but not in 2012, sorry. Dude can't sing nor rap yet given a pass. Only Cudi song I've like was Higher.
