OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

Album was so bad yet you kept it for months what

If a album is bad to me i delete it after a few minutes

Can't play an album once or twice and delete it a day or two later. It lasted a little longer than I expected because I had forgotten about it because I never played it after that first week. Gotta give it a few chances and some time.

Illegally downloaded "Yeezus". Thought it was awful except for 2-3 songs. It was so bad that I deleted it a few months later.

Most people that love the album say the same ****. "I liked it so much better after seeing the concert" I shouldn't have to pay $100+ for a concert for me to enjoy your album.

nako xl nako xl Have you said anything negative about a Kanye song or album? Some of you guys are so biased that you'll like anything by Kanye and it makes it hard to even post in this thread. I like Kanye. I bought College Dropout on release day, bought G, 808s and MBDTF on CD but if I have a negative comment about his new music, I'm a hater or a negative person.

I'm assuming by that post you don't know me.

It's cool. I'll chalk it up to inexperience.

I'm not who you described.

I'll be the first person to tell you some of Kanye's music is overrated. But if you wanna have that convo it's not just Yeezus. We can talk about CD, LR, And G too.

I asked you a question. You've said negative stuff about Kanye in here? I've never seen it but I'm also not in this thread that often since Yeezus dropped.

If u say yeezus is not good then i am convinced yall dont understand greatness

I'm just gonna go ahead and agree with this guy >D

But yeah, Wolves is :smokin for the production alone. The CDQ is going to be so great.

As soon as the beat starts, it just sounds like epicness.... :smokin :smokin :smokin

Only liked 3-4 songs when Yeezus dropped, took me a whole yr to finally enjoy it & the sound.

Its a Great album even though the lyrics arent the best.

I HOPE we get 808s pt 2., Ye's 2nd best album.

 Need God Level though...........

Yes. I have. graduation is immensely overrated.

Some amazing songs (some of his best) and some that should have never been recorded.

Aren't these tweets after this dude got fired?

Is it me or does "Wolves" sound like Amber Rose inspired it?

I think Amber Rose was Kanye's favorite muse and greatest inspiration for his work. She inspired the majority MBDTF.

The lyrics on Vic Mensa's part, (which sounds like Kanye wrote and had Vic sing,) sounds like they are about a Phoenix (wings, burning.) From the Runaway movie I think Amber was his Phoenix.

nope look up the story of Daedalus and Icarus:
The most familiar literary telling explaining Daedalus' wings is a late one, that of Ovid: in his Metamorphoses  (VIII:183-235) Daedalus was shut up in a tower to prevent his knowledge of his Labyrinth from spreading to the public. He could not leave Crete by sea, as the king kept strict watch on all vessels, permitting none to sail without being carefully searched. Since Minos controlled the land and sea routes, Daedalus set to work to fabricate wings for himself and his young son Icarus. He tied feathers together, from smallest to largest so as to form an increasing surface. He secured the feathers at their midpoints with string and at their bases with wax, and gave the whole a gentle curvature like the wings of a bird. When the work was done, the artist, waving his wings, found himself buoyed upward and hung suspended, poising himself on the beaten air. He next equipped his son in the same manner, and taught him how to fly. When both were prepared for flight, Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too high, because the heat of the sun would melt the wax, nor too low, because the sea foam would soak the feathers.

Do you have anything to back up your said conclusion?

If people don't have such polarizing opinions you're not making good music.

Dudes in here be getting hurt if someone else doesn't like Kanye for why tho? Yeezus is an amazing album to me, but definitely don't expect everyone to enjoy it.

How can you like Blood on the Leaves and Black Skinhead and not like the rest of the album? Guilt Trip? I Am A God? Sonically they're pretty similar and it's not like the lyrics on BOTL or Black Skinhead are in a different league than the rest of the album so...

This.

Emphasis on the element of polarizing your audience. It's what keeps things fresh and interesting.

This is exactly what differentiates a good artist, like J. Cole, from an iconic artist like Kanye.

J. Cole has released a bunch of good albums. They are also a bunch of albums that are exactly what you would expect from him and are incredibly predictable. Pretty much everyone can agree J. Cole's stuff is listenable. Everyone. You are never going to hear a hip hop fan be absolutely disgusted with a J. Cole song, at the same time, no one will be surprised or shocked at what they hear.

Kanye? You are either going to love it, or hate it. And that's why he is the most polarizing, interesting, talked about, and influential person in hip hop. Whether it was vulnerable, honest backpack rap on College Dropout rap, to 808s and Heartbreak super emo level rap, to Yeezus - WTF punk rock rap, you never know what to expect from Kanye, except that people will definitely either love it or hate it with a passion, and that's exactly why he remains fresh and influent more than 10 years in the spotlight.
