OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

I dug the Cudi track. Doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album, but it definitely grew on me after a few spins.

Aside from the singles, To The World, The One, Creepers, & Bliss are my favorites.

Sin City was alright.

Detroit > Cruel Summer.

NGF is ill though. Idk, maybe I woulda had a different feeling toward CS if I hadn't heard like 5 songs off it already. But still

to the world is my favorite song *shrugs*

Hell yeah. It feels kinda like All Of The Lights. :pimp:

I dont really mess with Cyhi. Big Sean is cool most of the time. I understand why people dont like Cudi. The mumbling just sounds bad sometimes. But I still ****'s with music. He just makes some dope ***** to vibe out to. I wouldnt even call him a rapper. I dont know what I would call him but dude makes some good music. Its the same way how some people think Max B is trash but some dudes think he's great.

Teyana Taylor sounds good. :pimp:

Throw Nas, Jay, Drizzy or Ross on Bliss

better yet Ross & Drizzy need the instrumental

Is it just me or does The Morning beat sound VERY simliar to Theraflu.... it'll always be Theraflu to me.

Anyway. The album is enjoyable, it has a few tracks that are great, a lot of good ones, and 2-3 ones that have no replay value to me.

Seriously though, like some of the features are so damn random. Mase and R. Kelly were both real random (even though R. Kelly KILLS To The World) When I first heard there was gonna be a GOOD compilation album, I expected it to be mostly just GOOD artists. I was expecting an evolved version of what GOOD Fridays were.

And didn't they say Jay Electronica was gonna be on the album? I guess maybe Kanye saved those songs for his album, or Jay Elec put them on his album (that's never releasing) since Kanye was on the features for the tracklist he posted.

I'd rate the album a 7/10, but I still feel for how much this was hyped and pushed back, it should have had AT least 2 more tracks.

Okay imma give it a real review,

To the world- dope
clique- is okay, lmao @ jay kinda stealing some of big sean/meek mill style from burn. Jay stay biting.
mercy- big sean is has found his niche
new god flow- never liked the song, but that rae verse was flawless better than 3k verse on 16 bars from the ross album "yea i said it"
morning- common kinda went ham on that joint.
cold- i love that song
higher- mase was very kinda good
sin city- cant get over that beat
the one- FIRE
Bliss- my fav so far, dont know why.

album is a 6/10 i would of rather had ye rap over every beat by himself.

Was just thinking this today. Made for a great transition between the two tracks

 iTunes library is over half classic rock/funk/prog rock/jam bands. Been drumming in rock bands for six years, studied rock beats and studied under rock drum teachers with doctorates and albums. Grew up on The Beatles/Pink Floyd/Frank Zappa, currently enjoy Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Black Keys, Jack White, etc too many to list right along with the Kanyes and Kendricks. But enough about me, cause it doesn't matter.
I'm not mad at you. 98% of NT music forum are blind rap lemmings that barely ventured outside of rap with Frank Ocean but ran back when they heard he was gay. But I gave up trying to talk anything besides rap on THIS board a while back. People just aren't trying to hear it. I'm glad that you are here to talk about something different.
But I want to be clear... Cudi is not a rocker or a soul singer. You can have your opinion, but to compare him to a 70s funk voice (Curtis Mayfield? Otis Redding) is IMO a complete absurdity. And is sort of reflective of this forum in general. Nice chattin'.

did you just... reply/quote to a post you weren't involved in... and include your life story/musical interests/musical background in the process??

eff outta here

^ I hope you don't mean :x in a bad way. The Dream almost singlehandedly saved the album with that hook. Higher is the only one of the new songs that I'm feeling.
The rest of the songs, as I mentioned earlier, are just so bland and generic.

I actually went back to listen to the first 1:30 of this song after reading this post because I thought I missed something. After listening, I concluded you had to be trolling...... While I do think his hook was just ok, his verse....:smh: :smh:

1st listen over with..well I hate that it ended on I dont like...Thats the ^%$# I dont like (pun intended)...should have been a bonus track
Should have ended with The One atleast...
Stand out tracks from 1st listen: Sin City, The One, The Morning, Higher, To the World.....I already heard everything else before hand
New God Flow and Cold sound great and crisp
Creepers is cool..doesnt fit in with the rest of the album...
8/10...Good album (another pun...lol) but its definitely underwhelming...so much talent on the roster and work done on this album...it should have been more epic...

I couldn't stand the fact this song made it on the album. It was terrible to end this album with this song. With this song at the end, the album is subjected to a bunch of "I don't like.....this album/comp/production/etc" pun filled punch lines. I give the album a 7.5/10.

Not enough new material that hasn't been officially released is one of my issues with this, and the other main issue I have is that songs in general aren't very deep. It's just "I'm so cool, I got so much money". Which is fine for singles and such. But you'd like to see the other tracks on the album to go a little deeper than just talking yourself up.

Id be willing to bet that if 'New God Flow' and 'Clique' weren't released before the album leaked/officially dropped and 'Cold' and 'Don't Like' weren't on the album altogether, we would have a lot more favorable reviews. While I do think 'Cold' has its place in the album in terms of editing/production wise, I'm still not a fan of it.

Loved:

- To The World
- The Morning
- Sin City
- Bliss
- Ghost and Raekwon's verses were awesome. I actually liked everyone's (minus The Dream and Mase's verse) on this album.

Loathed:

- Cold
- The Dream and Mase's verse on 'Higher'.
- Creepers
- Don't Like

In my opinion, production wise, this album meets Yeezy standards. I just can't say enough good things about 'To The World'. Fantastic way to kick off the album. Kellz on the track was dope, he and Ye......:pimp:. Imagine this song blasting in the club. EVERYONE would be pumped, singing along and raising their middle fingers up to Kellz's lines. Sin City just about blew my Paradigm DSP-3100! The bass on this track is OD, kick-*** beat! Bliss really was "pure bliss". Im wanting more Teyana/Legend tracks. This song is also being added to the 'Getting It On' playlist  .

Imagine if 'Clique' and 'New God Flow' hadn't been released (substitute with just 'Higher') before leak/official drop, there probably would have been more favorable responses. Also substitute 'Cold' and 'Don't Like' with whatever else they cooked up, man, this album would have been phenomenal. I think and agree with the most common gripe, the fact that five plus songs had already been heard, which is understandable. Every time I hear Cud's opening lines I just laugh, I mean, even as I'm typing this out thinking about his verse I can't help but laugh. It's hard for me not to, the way he sounds.....I just imagine him chowing down on a burger and singing this song with a mouth full. I don't hate Cud, I'm just not a fan of this song.

Good album but didn't meet the hype, unfortunately, but as someone else pointed out, maybe a few of these tracks are being held for Ye's next solo album. This album is still a solid 7.5 though.

Copped today, thought the cover wudda been embossed but it's not. Feels sturdier than the usual card cases though.
Can you post pics of the contents of the case? DVD? And whered you cop?

I'll put up pics after. The packaging is strange, it doesn't open in ther usual way, there's just an open slit on the top with an insert inside that you pull upwards and out. One side of the insert holds the CD and the other holds the tracklisting poster. No bonus tracks either :smh:

For people who copped the physical release, do you feel it's worth it to get the CD? Is there any stuff included in the package?
