Lyrics don't matter anymore b

It's a combination of both lyrics and music but the day of lyrics as the sole definition of a great album/artist have long passed. :smh: if you listened to a Kanye album expecting it to have amazing lyrics

Other than Yeezus & some of 808s, Kanyes albums have had good enough lyrics within the lane hes in. Yea hes never been lyrical but his music was always at least more balanced. The production carrying him now as if hes some basic cloud or trap rapper...

What pissed me off is that "no more parties in la" was straight lyrical heat and got my hopes up for the content of the album... I hope and pray that he is releasing something different.. The beats were on point, but many of the lyrics were cringe worthy in combination with poor song arrangements

I get what you saying too but I expect better lyrics from Ye than this. Hes shown he can do it in the past too. If he never shown that in the first place throughout his whole career then i wouldnt expect any better & would just be cool with it. I hold dude to higher standard than other rappers I guess cause i know hes capable of more.

Just curious, what did you think of Travis Scotts album?

Exactly PLVN

And MBDTF had some good lyrics in it. Gorgeous was fire in all aspects

Yea MBDTF was the last album for the "Culture", the other stuff is him exploring his artistic side 100% I guess, but it just aint for me. I`ll pass judgement when I hear CDQ but IMO this album would have potentially been GREAT if he stuck with the Gospel/soulful vibe he had in the start because even then it was a great mix of Old Soul and progressive sounds mixed. Like I said before this is already sonically better than Yeezus to me but is his weakest effort compared to the other albums from what I can hear so far.

Yea he hasn't even been all that lyrical since the Graduation era imo

He was lyrical on my beautiful dark twisted fantasy and on many of his features during that era

I feel like he was just mostly being as honest/passionate as ever and raw emotionally than being lyrically great on MBDTF imo. He can still drop some fire bars at times but the time where he really wrote down some stuff that would make you think for a little is probably gone *shrug*

I mean Ye has always had funny/questionable lines. Lets stop being brand new here.

I swear bro when he changed up wolves I knew it was over.. I litteraly would have bought the album just for the original version of that song... Simple, abstract, and beautifully arranged... How could Ye manage to **** that one up.. That one song has the potential to even salvage a poor album

idc about lame *** NT opinions anymore

Kanye album dope

shouldve been did that

Word, I mean no shots to anyone, but why would you listen to any of these dudes

I love this site, but it's full of clueless and irrational people in every single forum
