Album is solid and the songs are addictive. Bars are missing like a mofo but overall its really good music IMO.

Its a more entertaining and acceptable version of Yeezus.

Kanye showed with Real Friends and NMPILA that if he wanted to, he could still make a rap song with simple beats and bars that 90% of the people in this thread wanted him to.

Only thing is he just no longer gives a **** nor does it interest him in making songs like that. He pretty much says this himself in I Love Kanye and shows it in songs like 30 Hours. 3 Stacks throwing down a verse on a beat like that would have been GOAT, but instead Ye just has him come in for some backing vocals and adlibs for the rest of the song

I completely agree.

Honestly I don't have as many "cringeworthy" moments but I have never looked at Ye to be lyrical or more than good flow and a good punchline or two type rapper.

If you was waiting for that classic Ye you prob hated it, if you were expecting a new Ye you prob enjoyed it.

It def came off as more of a compliation than an actual album by a single artist but, this is just a pure assumption, electronic music may have that same feel where it's not a flow for an artist but just some different sounds on each track. Kinda like Daft Punk's last album

Kanye whether he made the beats or not, makes great sounding music. I don't know if I even like the album, but his music seems 'different' if that makes sense.

Yep. The backlash for some artists is far greater than others.

Which is why I've said for a while I place zero stock in reviews. I know a few writers. And they are not always what they seem. What's written, and what the trades choose to publish.
