OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

I listened to this album again mainly because KanYe has built up enough equity with me where I should be willing to give his albums more than one listen (Not 808's though. Never again), and I find myself liking some songs that I didnt before.

The songs on the album can really be broken up into three categories:

Songs that are absolute garbage:
  • Ultra Light Beams (ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, legit the worst non 808's song KanYe has ever done.)
  • Father Stretch My Hands 1
  • Low Lights
  • High Lights
  • Freestyle 4
  • Waves
  • Facts
  • Fade
Songs where the beats Carry Him:
  • Famous
  • Feedback
  • FML
  • Wolves
Good songs:
  • Father Stretch My Hands 2, and its really because of the Panda, everything KanYe did on this was bad
  • I Love KanYe
  • Real Friends
  • No More Parties in LA
  • 30 Hours
The songs where the beats carry him are good for the fact that that beats carry him, I pay no attention to him on FML, dudes saying nothing of substance, and he's basically talking.

This is clearly his second worst album.
i'm not telling you to kill yourself, but

+1 808's is :smokin
i actually like yeezus though. it is more cohesive. still the lyrics on most of the tracks is what really makes me skip tracks or not go back to the album.

weirdly kind of agree with the ultra light beam comment. People really over hyping that track :nerd:
When ever it comes on i just fast forward to the chance verse. That is the best verse in the whole album.

Anyone used to antidope wont be surprised by that statement

Just got through my first full listen... Very mixed feelings

Most enjoyable part of the album is the Father Stretch my Hands beat

Real Friends and No More Parties in LA are solid

I would say it's on the same level as Yeezus - overall letdown and underwhelming, this fool can't put together a good verse anymore

All of this Yeezus slander, I'm not here for it.

TLOP has flashes of dopeness but for the most part, it falls short. A lot of the OG records were better than the retail versions.

So were at the we now like Yeezus state. Ohkay then. I knew this time would come

There were always people that liked it.

If you look at the responses on this page alone though, more people seem to dislike than like.

Yeezus- trash
Tflop- garbage

WTT :smokin
mbdtf :smokin

He lost it after 2011. It happens to the best of them, some just don't want to admit it.

I love this album. I can't stop playing it.

Its seems like the people who hate it hate it because it wasn't what they wanted.

I had no expectations going in amd enjoy it for what it is.

"He'll give us what we need, it may not be what we want."

Anyway, how is Antidope gonna hate on 808s when he's a Drake Stan? Go back in the degrassi thread man.

Correct, the people who hate it wanted a good album with a rapper who put time in his lyrics. I felt so much effort and time was put into MBDTF with the lyrics/movie/emotion that I felt Kanye was on another level. Yeezus had so much anger and I felt it thru the music which made it artful...now to TLOP/ I only heard the listening party with 13 songs and his bars are almost like he freestyled/rushed the album. I was shocked by the amount of times he repeated his same lines twice in a row that were weak bars to begin with. I enjoyed the samples before and after the songs but the content in his lyrics isn't great. If source magazine still did the milk carton page of weak bars those 13 songs would give them material for a year.

The tidal album has 5 more songs that I haven't heard yet so I'm going to hold off on my judgement but if those song aren't great I don't know
