My entry.

Tried to keep the tradition of Ye not having his face in any of his album covers.

the hell

what was crazy exactly?

Example 1

Q:But has that instinct led you astray?
A:It’s only led me to complete awesomeness at all times.

Q:You’ve won a lot of Grammys?
A: I don’t know if this is statistically right, but I’m assuming I have the most Grammys of anyone my age, but I haven’t won one against a white person. (not true in 2010 he beat Andy Samberg & Akiva Schaffer "Im on a Boat" for best Rap Collaboration for" Run This Town")

Example 2: (this was completely incoherent)

"But the passion is for humanity. The passion is for people. The passion is for the 18-year-old version of myself. The passion is for the kids at my shows. I need to do more. I need to be able to give people more of what they want that currently is behind a glass. I don’t believe that it’s luxury to go into a store and not be able to afford something. I believe luxury is to be able to go into a store and be able to afford something.

I sat down with a clothing guy that I won’t mention, but hopefully if he reads this article, he knows it’s him and knows that out of respect, I didn’t mention his name: this guy, he questioned me before I left his office:, “If you’ve done this, this, and this, why haven’t you gone further in fashion?” And I say, “I’m learning.” But ultimately, this guy that was talking to me doesn’t make Christmas presents, meaning that nobody was asking for his [stuff] as a Christmas present. If you don’t make Christmas presents, meaning making something that’s so emotionally connected to people, don’t talk to me."

Example 3: (maybe he didnt mean to say "the world" but he said "the world" wins when people respect Kanye West trendsetting. I have no idea how the little boys in Somalia won when Kanye made those lined sunglasses a trend. Or how the 1 billion people who live on less than a dollar a day won when he set the leather sweats trend. **I know I'm being sanctimonious as hell but you can't say "the world" with a straight face and your trends lack any social or moral conscious; blood diamonds be damned)

"Yeah, respect my trendsetting abilities. Once that happens, everyone wins. The world wins; fresh kids win; creatives win; the company wins."

Example 4: I really laughed at this, it was more funny than anything else---which one does not belong

"I’ve been connected to the most culturally important albums of the past four years, the most influential artists of the past ten years. You have like, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Nicolas Ghesquière, Anna Wintour, David Stern."

Example 5[/B]: This is crazy point blank. If he wants to feel himself to death, more power to him. His braggadocio is unquestioned. But the **** is crazy and presupposes money pushes culture.

"I think that’s a responsibility that I have, to push possibilities, to show people: “This is the level that things could be at.” So when you get something that has the name Kanye West on it, it’s supposed to be pushing the furthest possibilities. I will be the leader of a company that ends up being worth billions of dollars, because I got the answers. I understand culture. I am the nucleus."

Thank God someone in here is thinking clearly. The majority of that interview was ridiculous.

Wow thats a crazy interview...especially the stuff he said about MBDTF and how that wasn't 100% the music he really wanted to come out with.

yeah but he said its always 80% what he wants to give and 20% for the ppl

So you guys actually believe these dudes when they say **** like this?

You believe him when he says he doesn't want to be on the radio because he doesn't like what he hears? He wasn't talking that **** when "Mercy" or "Clique" or "Paris" were all over the radio. And they still are.

You believe him when he says "I have a new strategy, it's called no strategy"? I guess those videos just wound up on the sides of buildings all over the world by accident.

What's even more ironic is that I bet that's what this all is.....strategy. Denounce everything you once embraced. Tell people you're not a "celebrity". Become this artistic martyr.

Right as your album is coming out

With that said, I'm still looking forward to hearing the album. I just wish the dude would shut the **** up already.

Here's an article that should make some heads in here explode.

I am a huge fan of Kanye, but I 100% agree with this. This is all his strategy.

I personally thought that the NYTimes interview was extremely humanizing. 'Ye did his thing as an artistically creative person in his position should do and express his opinions about things.

I think that's what you meant.....

This is all extremely "humanizing"?

"Yeah, respect my trendsetting abilities. Once that happens, everyone wins. The world wins; fresh kids win; creatives win; the company wins."

"I will be the leader of a company that ends up being worth billions of dollars, because I got the answers. I understand culture. I am the nucleus."

"If you don’t make Christmas presents, meaning making something that’s so emotionally connected to people, don’t talk to me."

I guess Givenchy T's, snakeskin snapbacks, Pyrex T's etc. are suddenly "emotionally connected to people". Because I'm pretty sure he talks to the people that make those.

This dude is seriously outer limits......

www.kanyewest.com updated . . .

Unique marketing strategy for this album

Got everyone talking about the album without a CD Quality single, nor an actual music video out

Incorporating that "kill seven-years-ago self" quote into the cover redesign would be dope. He meant it in terms of fashion, but even musically and personally, he has pretty much slit the throat of that version of himself.

Man one of those custom covers is being used by me, way better than the fake artistic nonsense hes trying to pull with the real album.
