OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

please put the album in the recycling bin. you don't deserve to finish it.
how much scrotum can one man hold? you dont need to be in this thread lol.

anyways, why are some of you talking about people not liking it cuz its not rap? who said they didnt like it cuz its not rap? from a MUSICAL standpoint, this is garbage. fisher price beats with screaming over it. people who defend the album cant even say the lyrics content is good. all theyre saying is "hes pushing the boundaries. its different! you just dont like it cuz its not rap." f.o.h. u assume people who dont like this foolishness dont like rap? kanye delivered something different. yes. so what. different =/= good.
I kinda think that's the point
laugh.gif
the point is to feel like im being mocked? lol. who wants to listen to an artist thats mocking the fact that u even listen to them. kanye claims minimalism. F that. this is finely diced poop. If kanye released a 12 track BLANK cd people would say "its different! nobody has done this before! GENIUS!" in fact...he just dropped a cd with no cover or artwork. its a blank case with red ducttape. COME ON MANNNNNNNNNN

Following up MBDTF, it made sense he put out something like this. What I mean is MBDTF was a universally acclaimed classic, from hipsters to snobby music critics, everyone praised that album. After creating a masterpiece like that, it would be nearly impossible to make a more impressive masterpiece album. And if you tried to, people would compare it to MBDTF and you would set yourself up for failure.

So what you do in this situation is put out something left field, something weird but artsy. That way you dodge the "attempt at MBDTF part 2 epic failure." I bet Kanye's next solo effort will be another masterpiece-esque album.

This.

What I don't get is.. if you only listen to rap, then why would you bother listening to an artist who clearly takes influences from places outside of conventional rap music? Keep it moving, it's not for you

Stall me out p, Rap isn't even my favorite genre, country, pop, and r&b is. I love rap, but it isn't my favorite by any stretch. Too repetitive in the wrong things.

Most of the things I listen to consist of stuff from Chantel Kreviazuk, Hunter Hayes album (Somebody's Heartbreak, Wanted, What you gonna do) , Taylor Swift's red album, (All too well :pimp: ) I think One Direction is dope (Word to live while we're young) Hot Chelle Rae has some cold stuff, I could go on.

It's not about if you listen to rap or not. This just isn't good. Lyrically, this is beyond lazy. It's like he's taken the Lil wayne approach. Its not cohesive at all lyrically, and he overcompensates with the overdone production. It just isn't good.

It's my opinion of course, but don't try and say opinions are formed due to lack of diversity in musical preference. Good music is good music, bad music is bad music. Period.

Album is disappointing, average at best. . Production is good though.

Only Like New Slaves, Blood on the Leaves, Hold My Liquor & Bound 2.

you act like kanye was a lyrical god before though

his rhymes have always been simple and very up front

F*** all that people are entitled to like what they like crap..... You stans don't hold him responsible and embrace his garbage so he feels he can literally throw anything out there because yall will eat it up and you do. Most of yall stay crying about artist lacking lyrics but hey Kanye can get away with it right. smh album is trash with 2-3 re-playable songs
 at this post.

The reason why Kanye feels like he can literally throw anything out there, is because he can. And he just did. And he will probably make a lot of money in the process. You mad?

I don't understand why people are putting these artists on a pedestal. I know Kanye called the album "Yeezus" but you're not actually supposed to think he's the savior. Stop expecting **** from artists/celebrities. They're just regular people who have money and can do whatever they want.

Kanye ain't forcing anyone to listen. But from a musical standpoint a lot of people find his projects intriguing, including myself.

Okay, if you don't like it then you don't like it. My post is mainly directed at people who clearly only listen to rap music and make comments like "Why can't he make another College Dropout/LR" etc etc. I don't know who made this 'rule' that an artist has to keep making the same type of music.
