First and foremost, Makaveli was an interesting album, far from a masterpiece. And he got dealt with accordingly for recording it so....your point? :rolleyes

Honestly bro's, this album just isn't intended for you. I don't mean that in a good or bad way, just is what it is. If this album was a clothing store, Yeezus would be the Lafayette Gallery in Paris, made high end, **** from all over the world, premium ******edly priced stuff, etc. The **** ya'll are on is the Polo Outlet X House Of Hoops rap. Both fly in their own right, but different. Basically what it boils down to is a measure of life experience. He's making soundtracks for people around the world involved in various things. There's rappers out there that make music about still living with your mother as well. Game needs balance man. Can't be all balling, can't be all broke, roach infested boom bap.

My quick review aka 10 reasons you can't relate

1. On Sight - Have you ever been to a club that doesn't play rap / bachata / reggaetone? Clubs where you can't rock Nikes? Ever been to Europe? Ever been to real clubs with million dollar sound systems that literally take your breath away when the bass comes in? Willing to bet you haven't or you would understand immediately how ill this intro is.

2. Black Skinhead - My least favorite track on the album but like all the other armchair A&R's, I predict this song being huge.

3. I Am A God - Another song that's going to kill in clubs. Message is pure Kanye, beats are on some 2015 ****.

4. New Slaves - Not sure what your occupation or financial standing is in the world but this song speaks volumes for gentlemen like myself, only black in majority white organizations, middle class identity, how blacks all have the same ******ed idea of the image of success, etc. Not to mention, that dope *** bassline, the Quentin Tarantino styled outro, etc.

5. Hold My Liquor - Sounds like speeding home in a droptop 7am after the club, high off life, winning. Song is incredible.

6. I'm In It - One of the supreme architects of the NY sound has moved on music wise (RZA), why can't you? Song is cool, not my fav.

7. Blood On The Leaves - Sounds like 808's on steroids, would be my favorite song if not for "Bound2"

8/9. Guilt Trip / Send It Up - Like these but haven't had time to properly analyze them, keep playing the same 4 songs over and over.

10. Bound2 - Obviously the hottest song on the album, the sample, the bars, everything is flawless. Hood yet still modern with the random Charlie Wilson hook. Honestly at this point with Kanye not even residing in the US, it would sound weird if his entire album had this sound tho.

spoken like a true stan..***** comparing mediocre production to high end clothing in paris...damn son dont piss and **** on your pyrex pampers

now

this album is bad, its right next to 808's in da gutter.

To get the full effect of the album, you need to have the windows cracked 3/4 in your whip, the a/c on 67, and snack on a payday candy bar at the same time. J/K, but i love some of the stipulations some of yall have when discussing how to listen to this joint.

*edit* just finished booking a trip to Brussels so I can get that higher-level listening appreciation for this album that I'm clearly missing here in the states. Do some of yall hear yourselves??!!!???

funny thing you bring up reggaeton...wanna see what a daddy yankee concert looks like in europe?

c'mon b...its ok, everyone falls off eventually...even kanye west, cuz SURELY you ain't gonna say this album is better then

college drop out

late registration

graduation

dark twisted fantasy...you would just be stamping your stan passport to a 1 way trip into kanye's uranus doing that.

if this was titled watch the thrown 2 and jay backed up his records i would still think it was trash. i've listened to this 4 times so far in the last 2 days and it sounds like if 3stacks got depressed and locked him self in a bomb bunker for 3 weeks and did whole bunch of hard while making music.

I feel like this is more than likely one of the most genuine replies in here.

That billboard review straight up ignored my ***** keef's presence on Hold My Liqour lol. Anyways the album is cool, 7.5 out of 10

Hov got something special for tonights gm but is he taking away Ye shine tho....

You should think about a career in politics, being a preacher, or becoming a prosecutor, cause this is the most elaborate believable BS I've ever read at one time. You could've sold heat to a homeless guy burning up in the sun.

Lol at you guys. I've heard bit and pieces of the album but I'm reserving all judgement till Tuesday when the official album drops. It might include more songs but if not ill be able to bump the official CDQ in the whip.

After reading all these posts about the album it's clear to see that this album has people divided. It's hard to understand why kanye is deviating farther and farther from what originally made him a great artist in the first place but if he was making the same type of music we were listening to in '05 we would complain too. If this album truly does suck, then ill except it but from what I heard it reminds me of the first time I heard 808's. I was like WTH??? 5 years and numerous copied sounds later you realize how ahead of its time 808's was. Same with MBDTF. We're JUST now gaining a general appreciation for that album. Not to say yeezus is either of those but I think the hype from this album kinda gave us too high of an expectation. I mean at one point there was talk of golden tickets for red yeezy 2's in the album  I honestly feel like in time ill grow to appreciate the album but as of right now I'm reminded of how great kanye's older albums are

lol nah man,no 808s and heartbreaks slander..EVER!! im not even here for it bruh...

to me he's kinda back in graduation-808's era ye which is the ye I prefer to hear honestly.

After listening to it a few times, I like it . . . a lot

It's not for everybody

If you compare it to any of his past albums you'll be disappointed . . . the progression of sound Ye has accomplished is unprecedented . . . nobody in rap goes out of their way as much as he does to blatantly switch it up

That Ether that make your soul burn slow :smokin

After playing it a 3rd time this **** still sounds like a mess of Ye trying to damn hard. 808's was way left field but it still a good album, MBDTF was different but it still was great (his second best album after LR). This album just ain't good.

I don't care how many times I listen to On Sight it's still trash.

 @ these "Ya'll have to be 30,000 feet in the air on your way to Rome to appreciate this album" type of replies.

I'm enjoying the album. I like how it doesn't sound terribly similar to what I'm use to hearing from him or just music in general. The production is nice. Really like New Slaves I Am God Blood and On The Leaves. Of course Bound 2. I'm really enjoying the whole album though

I like the album, it's grown on me. Only problem I have is there's no direction, album is all over the place. Half of the album has a direction and is great music while the other half sounds like he was drunk in the studio having a good time. At times the production also has too much going on that it becomes noise.

7/10 for me.

Not buying a blank disc for $10
