OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

Bcuz I don't feel none of those albums were hiphop

Lauryn Hill started this in 98 with Miseducation Andre followed suit with Love Below

Then Kanye jumped on the bandwagon and now we have T-pain,Drake,Future,blackeyepeas,and ton of other lames making RnB HipHop influenced fusions

Its not pure hiphop and I think it needs its own genre
Would you call Biz Markie "just a friend" "PURE HIP HOP"?

Always thought Kanye was great at making a complete, concise album until this. These tracks are literally all over the place.

With that being said, after enough listens I was able to force myself into liking about 8/10 tracks.

The only songs I really didn't like we're I Am a God & Hold My Liquor.

New Slaves, Blood On The Leaves & Bound 2 were the only songs that really stood out as actually great tracks to me.

Still gotta go through the whole album, but I'm liking what I've heard so far. No real gripes or hate for it.

Got to bump the whole album in the car last night on a drive, it's growing on me from the first time I heard it, as I figured it would

Yall buggin wit the " infusing EDM with rap' garbage. Cats been doin that since forever.

JUSTBLAZE EDM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kanye EDM

this some old edm

Its not about singing a lil or even having a rnb hook

Its about the song being entirely rnb but labeled hiphop cuz of the artist

Your love - nicki
Marvins room - drake
Hey ya - andre
Sweetest thing - lauryn
So on and so forth

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I don't like those songs just that its not hiphop and shouldn't be label as such

Y'all are buggin this is probably my 2nd fav Ye album and I've been effing with him since the very beginning

Cats complaining about this being weird hip hop I mean this is Progressive POP MUSIC Kanye is a POP artist and Yeezus is an evolution of hip hop within pop music it's truly amazing

To me it's obvious he is the hip hop David Bowie -- constantly changing his own genre by incorporating others.

I am one of the biggest Kanye stans ever and I can't co-sign this album. I held him to a high standard musically and this def does not live up to par. All this talk about where you need to be in life to understand the music is ******ed. If I knew I needed to rent loft space a few meters away from Tuileries Garden in Paris to get just the right acoustics I wouldnt have even bothered listening. Im going to give it a few more spins because as a fan I want to like it but he def has lost me here.

I wouldnt be surprised if Ye ends up apologizing for this mediocracy

Happens all the time with artist.

for those who don't like it, like myself, y'all need to see what type of people y'all talking to.

people who are admittedly MAKING themselves like the album.

forcing a feeling on themselves.

c'mon. just give it up. they just gone keep telling you that you are too closed minded and blinded by trap rap or that you're not cultured enough.

at people trying to force people NOT to like it.

If I have to force myself to like the music, then I never liked it to begin with.

I normally get a feeling once I listen to a song. If I don't, then more than likely I wont like it.

Some of you all are delusional. Listening to an album multiple times you claim not to like? I know for damn sure I ain't playing something 2, 3, 4, 5 times if I don't like it.

Now I like this album. I love it (and I find bound 2 a little annoying. Not that great, probably my least fav song and this is coming from someone who's favorite song ever is through the wire) now I like it but I can completely understand why someone would dislike it.

this. why do people push so haard that theydont like it? if u dont like it okay cool that means the music doesntt appeal to you, like kanye said if u want his old ish go buy his old album

Snuck into a besbuy warehouse

Listened to it, several times over the weekend and gets better with every listen. Gets me so hyped.

Lyrically, Ye was awful. Production carries the album.

Someone answer this for me:

If I thoroughly enjoy the sound the Sleigh Bells have and the message Tupac has...what don't I understand about this album?
Why can't I just not like it because it sounds like **** to me minus Bound 2?
Kanye may be going a new direction for HIMSELF, but the noisy, chaotic sound of this is nothing new so to tell me to buy his old albums or that I can't stand change is pretty presumptuous and unfair.

It's not so much me making myself like his music, that's just how I am. It takes awhile for me to like new music or understand why an artist is doing what they're doing. I've hated most of Kanye's albums right out of the gate (CD and LR excluded) only to finally understand and eventually love the work.
