OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

da best part of this album is da lyrical content, **** is like a Nas album in that you literally have to shut off da instrumentals in your

mind just to appreciate da 40 minute tirade, cuz let's face it...this is one big kanye west tirade over brash instrumentals, and although

kanye west's **** talking is always appreciated (i happen to find people with delusions of grandeur

extremely entertaining) its a shame he did it on beats that you can't vibe to.

if da album has more bound 2 and more of that ending beat from new slaves while its fading out, this album was be SO MUCH BETTER...

hell if you listen to album every song towards da end they're all become progressively better then da song cuts off, and you start

off with da trash build up again....

interesting note, i never hated da intro.

 at people trying to force people NOT to like it.

some dudes really mad over this

im saying

and they keep coming in this thread for some reason just lookin to say something bad ***** pathetic
 That's what I don't get.. if you don't like it why do you keep coming in the thread and getting yourself worked up?

People who were intrigued by the album are in here trying to discuss our thoughts, and these angry *** dudes keep butting in with "NO! You're wrong! The album sucks" blah blah when no one is even addressing them.. the X button is a click away, lmao

Again, you guys are so blinded, you don't see the hypocrisy of your own words.

This isn't an appreciation thread. It's an album discussion thread. That's what you said, right?

Which means people are perfectly within their rights to discuss why they DO NOT like the album. Right?

No album is perfect. Every intelligent discussion needs balance. Or was this not supposed to be an intelligent discussion?

Was it just supposed to be a circle jerk?

Like I said, I haven't said anything to anyone who just said they like the album. It's the clowns that are trying to dictate to people why they don't like an album that I take issue with.

Look around you. A lot of people are taking issue with it, hence the BigGhostFace tweets I posted.

Y'all sound mad sensitive right now. Why does the fact that we don't like an album that you love even bother you? All these kinds of responses are doing is fueling the fire.

So just keep discussing your thoughts and leave it at that.

Why are the people that don't like it so mad at the people that do? Like damn we like the music and you don't it's not the end of the world
laugh.gif
Some of the fans of it are getting a bit touchy about y'all too I know, it's been the same damn banter the last few pages and it's getting old.
i'm mad because dudes are like: 'i didn't like itt the first time but then i went out and bought some different earphones and listened to it ten more times, by my 13th listen i started to get it, and i now realize that you have to be in a different space to appreciate it and I now solidly give this a 10/10'

Or the sample beat on On Site...that **** would have been crazy by itself. Some of those samples that cut in would have been classic tracks imo.

funny thing you bring up reggaeton...wanna see what a daddy yankee concert looks like in europe?

c'mon b...its ok, everyone falls off eventually...even kanye west, cuz SURELY you ain't gonna say this album is better then

dark twisted fantasy...you would just be stamping your stan passport to a 1 way trip into kanye's uranus doing that.
Not entirely sure why you posted the video. Been to numerous Latino (not just bachata/ salsa/reggaeton) concerts all across the continent. There's a huge Latino population that lives over here and honestly, the whole latin thing is kind of a new thing for a lot of Euro chicks so those cats are eating good right now. They have festivals all throughout the summer in various cities (Milan, Rotterdam, London, etc) that make these concerts look small in comparison.

As for the KW albums...sonically it's light years ahead of his first three, from a strictly engineering standpoint. Thematically, hard to say. It's not 200*****05/2007 any more. "Blood On The Leaves" speaks more to me than say "Gone" at this point in time. I'd still put the G.O.O.D. Friday tracks as an album over all of his work tho'.

First off, you seem like a reasonable poster in the forums. You're right that there are def clowns in this thread. Unfortunately some people feel the need to belittle others for not liking the same thing as them, you can't win with those people. Constantly engaging with them in a hostile manner gets redundant and doesn't contribute to the discussion.. it's really not worth ruining the thread over.

Because at a certain point, it starts to look like some people are just mad/disappointed about the album and are using the thread as an outlet to go off on people who like it (not saying that's what those posters are intending to do, just that it may come off that way)

I'll state my personal opinion for the millionth time which is that I don't like the album too much. HOWEVER it employs a lot of interesting musical elements and influences that I think are worth discussing (the EDM stuff, the minimalist sound, use of sampling, the various producers involved, etc etc), but it's hard to open the floor for that dialogue because there's so much BS in the thread right now.

This.. not gonna lie, hearing that made me miss the old Ye. Because he would have normally flipped that into something crazy

Tbh I hope this was just like a "side project" he needed to get out of his system, and his next album is more in the vein of music you can vibe to.

Somebody mentioned that he didn't think he could follow up MBDTF and that's why he did this. I def agree, a lot of big artists do these little "In between" random/unconventional albums so they can release the next album without as much pressure.

From a music standpoint the album is ok...

There are about 5 songs on here that I dig and they sound pretty dope in the whip

I think it's pure comedy that ppl will give Ye a pass for this album tho... if it was anybody else they would be stoned

Like I stated previously - I like some of the songs and I hate others.

1. A masterpiece is appreciated from whatever system you listen to it. True if you have a better system the richer the sound and feeling is, but if you initially hear it from a crappy system - you still will say, damn this is a masterpiece.

2. Why are we talking about Kanye pushing boundaries and revolutionizing HipHop? What do you guys think, that he is the first rapper to incorporate sounds/beats/accoustics that are not the NORM? If so, clearly you don't know much about music ...

3. I really don't follow Kanye, so I really don't know much about his struggles and his personal life. With that said from someone that is just listening to his lyrics why does it sound like this dude still mad about a chick from 5 years ago that if he tap he can have (Amber maybe)? Didn't he just have a baby with Kim? LMAO - why is  he talking about being trap? about not being loved? LMAO - Correct me if Im wrong - I just want a better insight to Kanye

Lastly, I never understood why people of a certain race always talk about empowering their race and their struggles but go outside their race. I swear sometimes I think Kanye wishes he was white.

500k first week? NAH

I think he'll be lucky if he does 300k truthfully

Not everyone will be aware of the way he's publicizing his album. Plus the 'non album cover' album cover.... no bueno for ppl trying to recognize.

Unless store slap a sticker with his name on it on the front of the cd

 at all of this..

PLEASE stop bringing up Illmatic in this thread.

I like the album, it's different and I admire Kanye's arrogance. My thoughts are that he's still not over that Alexis chick and I don't think he listens to hip-hop anymore

Forget all that flying to Paris and sitting in Co Co Chanels loft while listening to this on a 60 degree overcast day talk. If you haven't played this in your car then you're missing out :pimp:

The looks I got from this old church lady while bumping I an a god today

I noticed some of the songs referencing their relationship.

Ive listened to this album for two days straight the more i listen the worse it sounds. I can't deal with this dude just ranting for 10 songs straight . He talks about nothing its just a tirade. Like this album exposes how he views himself Kanye really thinks he is some type of visionary or prophet .Dude is extremely deluded and needs to retire and seek counciling before he kills somebody or commits suicide

yea i was so disgusted by that comment i aint wanna quote it because i didn't wanna dignifying da atrociousness with a response.

a classic album to me is one that can drop at any moment in time and STILL be classic, imagine kanye debuting his career with this ****

Album is a disappointment to me. I like New Slaves, Bound 2 is alright. Pass on everything else.
