OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

At the end of the day, in my eyes if you're a real one you show up to your mans wedding. Media circus or not some things are greater than you & your personal wills and won'ts.

at him missing Ye's wedding

You Kanye West fans are just as emotional as Kanye is.  Bunch of dudes upset that a grown man didn't show up for another grown man's wedding.  It appears to me that you dudes are mad that Kanye didn't invite you dudes to his wedding instead of Jay Z.  You dudes probably wanted to walk Kanye down the aisle yourselves to give him away or something, SMH.

From looking at the photos from the wedding, it appears that Jay Z did the right thing by not showing up to the wedding anyway.  The last thing you want to do is be in a room with an attention-seeking kid with a white Batman costume on.  The would instantly remind me of some distraction tactic reminiscent of the Audubon Ballroom in Washington Heights, New York in 1965, in which Jay Z would have to get his family out of that venue by any means necessary.

Besides, at the rate Kim Kardashian is at, it looks like there will be another Kanye West wedding in a few years, so maybe just maybe Jay Z can make that one.  Will that satisfy you Kanye West fans once and for all??
I know I'mma catch heat for this statement but forget about the fact that Ye' saved Jay's career. Forget about the fact that Ye' single-handedly kept Jay relevant for the past few years

I'd even venture so far as to say Jay owes a majority of the latter half of his career to Kanye.
As usual, you Kanye West fans have the zeal but no knowledge.  Asking you dudes for an accurate hip hop lesson would be the equivalent of going to Fox News for an accurate American history lesson.......(Christopher Columbus discovered America

).

Let's breakdown the history of Jay Z and Kanye West prior to them meeting one another and see who helped/saved who.  Prior to even knowing Kanye West existed, Jay Z was a multi-platinum hip hop star, arguably the best rapper in the game, with one of, if not the hottest rap label in the game, selling out shows and arenas, and Rocawear........80 mill.....like 18 months.  Just to add a bit more onto that, Jay Z's biggest hit single even after meeting Kanye, was not produced by Kanye, not even his second biggest hit single after that.

Kanye West on the other hand was just another broke ***** getting evicted from his apartment, not signed to a major record deal, no hit record under his belt, barely able to get a Pelle Pelle (shout out to @ninjahood) off lay-away, and struggling to put a bed together himself from IKEA.  "This is before rap............this is ALL fact."  After looking at all those FACTS, it's quite clear to see who needed who in the rap game, who saved who from such a raggedy living situation, and why more importantly who is the big brother (Jay Z)and who is just the little brother.

It's like Jay gave Ye the ball and Ye started ******** on the game, then after Ye became MVP 3-4 times in a row, he started handing assists to Jay for Jay to score

THERE WOULD BE NO JAY TODAY WITHOUT YE.

Tell me who would Jay would've ran to for songs...Swiss? Timbo? Give me a break

Ye gave Jay value
Em gave Dre value
Drake gave Wayne value
Kobe gaves Lakers value

Jay went from Throwback Jerseys and AF1's to Picasso, why he do that? YE.

LOL.  You're all over the place champ, calm down.  Three posts in a row and not one of them made sense, nor did you address any of the points I made.  Like I said before, you Kanye West fans are just as emotional as Kanye is, if not more so.  You see how I provided facts, you just provided emotion, and that's not a good thing for a dude to give such as yourself when being taught something.

Even your "value" post above is enough to get you banned from the boards as far as I'm concerned.  Just goes to show that the majority of you Kanye West fans have no idea what you are talking about.

You are correct with this statement...if it was still 2004/2005. Before I start, I am an equal fan of both Jay and Kanye

@gamble CLEARLY stated that he is talking about the latter half of Jay's career.

I like to compare it to Shaq and Kobe. Shaq (Jay Z) was the big star when Kobe (Kanye) came into the league. He was the dominant force on those first 3 championships. But, there was a gradual swing to where Kobe didn't necessarily need Shaq to be great any more, and eventually Kobe became one of the top 2 players in the world for about 6 or 8 years. Shaq, on the other hand, started to decline which is a normal part of the game.

Kanye definitely benefited from having Jay around. But, he was still great. His sound is what made The Blueprint great IN COLLABORATION with Jay's rapping. But, there's no doubt that the past few years, Jay Z has fallen off. For a good amount of kids born in the 90s and 2000s (I was born in the 80s), Jay Z is only relevant because of Kanye West.

If you're going to go on and speak about the business side of his career, Jay Z is given 100% credit there. But, as far as musically, Kanye has kept Jay Z relevant. Look at MCHG.. you think Jay would have taken the artsy marketing direction (album cover, t-shirts, etc.) if Kanye didn't have him rapping on those WTT beats and wearing Givency on stage?

Anyways. Call me a girl, but if one of my boy's missed my wedding day, I'd be pissed too. I'd be even more pissed if it was someone who I even considered to be a Best Man.

Either way, the debate will always go on. It's like Shaq and Kobe. Who was better than who? Honestly, who cares. They're both giants in the entire music game and have helped bring rap and hip-hop culture to the forefront of the entire music/entertainment industry. Rap is the new rock & roll because of these 2 (and others). At the end of the day, all I want is a WTT 2.

So you're attacking me personally for stating facts? This is the problems with NT'ers like you, your sole OPINION is not fact and you're ready to attack whoever doesn't agree with your comments. Now if we go into facts...Jay didn't do or didn't talk about a lot of the same things he use to always talk about until after Ye came out.

Now me & you both know Jay hops on whatever is hot at the moment.

Hell, he toured with a NAYNC member last summer

Ye been doing things different since he came out, while Jay adapted to what's hot at the moment.

Tell me one Jay album in the past 10 years that you'd put over any of Kanyes? American Gangster? Well that's not an "official" Jay album by NT's standards.

Fast forward to 2013, a MONTH after Ye dropped Yeezus and told people over and over it's a minimalist appeoached album, Jay says "MCHG is a minimalist approach album". Who's influencing who?

Oh and it's on record that Jay/Bey didn't attend KimYe's wedding because BEY didn't want to

deuce king deuce king why are you always going so hard on kanye? Lol you forever downplaying him like he didn't help jays career a lot (jay did a lot for ye too and would still be one of the goats without ye though). I personally think everybody is really reaching with this whole "beef" thing between the 2.

Again, as far as the latter part of Jay' Z's career his biggest single did not have a Kanye West contribution to it, FACT.  His best album in the latter part of his career (American Gangster) was not primarily produced by Kanye West, FACT.  As far as the subject matter on MCHG, that's still all speculation or opinion based on you Kanye West fans end, and even that is a FACT
laugh.gif
.  Jay Z was wearing and talking about high end fashion items long before he even knew Kanye West existed, FACT......."****** kept complaining so I copped more diamonds, rock more VERSACE, ain't nothing sweet).

Also, just to clear things up once and for all. The Blueprint was not solely produced by Kanye West.  Production credit for The Blueprint goes to Just Blaze, Blink, and Timberland as well.  You dudes for some reason like to, or want to overlook that for some reason.  Kanye West was not the sole producer on The Blueprint, just another way some of you dudes like to try and re-write history, you Fox News lovers.

That's exactly how I know and can tell the vast majority of you Kanye West fans simply don't know what you are talking about, and are talking just to talk.  If you don't know something, all you have to do is ask.  Nothing wrong with saying you don't know something.  There are plenty of people such as myself and a few others here on the boards that would be more than happy to give you dudes an accurate history lesson.  I'm from the old school champ.........each one teach one.

I'm not going to call you a girl, but if your boy or best man didn't show up for your wedding what difference does it make champ.  Your wedding day should be about you and your wife, who cares who else is or isn't an attendance.  Dudes need to know how to focus in on their woman, and take care of the blessing that you have.  Worry about your woman or your significant other, and not anybody else.

You stated no facts champ, all you did was provide opinions.................and they were all piss poor at best.  You get your act together, then come talk to me once you have cooled down and bring facts, not your opinion to the table.

Like I said earlier, based upon those photos from the wedding both Jay and Bey did the right thing.  More power to them.  Even if they didn't go because Bey didn't want to go, when or if you get married champ, you forsake all others.
@Deuce King why are you always going so hard on kanye? Lol you forever downplaying him like he didn't help jays career a lot (jay did a lot for ye too and would still be one of the goats without ye though). I personally think everybody is really reaching with this whole "beef" thing between the 2.
I didn't say Kanye didn't help.  I just don't agree to the extend that some of these Kanye West radicals like to say Kanye West saved Jay Z career.  That's a huge overstatement.

**** got wild in here!

I also wonder how things would be different if Ye would have stuck it out with Dame. Outside of Dame's antics we do know that he actually rides for his artist. I have no doubt he would've made the wedding.

Makes you wonder why Kanye didn't invite the dude that put him on though.....

Jay went from Throwback Jerseys and AF1's to Picasso, why he do that? YE.

Kanye suddenly collects art? Swizz did that.

Some of you dudes seriously OD with your warped perception of Kanye's "influence".

You might need to learn what the definition of "facts" is, because this is clearly an OPINION and a ludicrously biased one at that.

So Jay and Kanye put an album out a month apart. Jay is working with Rick Rubin on his. Who does Kanye bring in to tighten up his album at the end? Rick Rubin.

See how that works? See how that goes both ways and not just in ONE direction?

You're not completely off in your assertion that working with Kanye has helped Jay, and that Jay definitely works with the "it" producers of the moment.

But you in here saying some outlandish **** son. And I think that's the issue a lot of people have with some Kanye fans. A lot of us can respect dude and his work but some of you are disturbingly over the top about it.

Disturbingly being the key word.

Did ye SAVE jays career? Lol hell no. Did kanye have a big impact on the latter end of jays career? Without a doubt. They both largely have complimented each others careers. Whether if anyone wants to call that opinions or facts deep down they know its the truth. Both are two of the greatest to ever make hip-hop, hell music in general leave it at that.

But again, even the magnitude of Kanye's "impact" on Jay's career is a matter of opinion. Nothing here is "fact".

We are influenced to some degree by EVERYTHING around us.

Why so many of you feel the need to dwell on things like impact or influence from one man to the next is, again, disturbing.

When you talk about Jay and Dame, you went from a Jay that couldn't get on to a Jay that was ON in a major way.

When you talk about Jay and Kanye, you're talking about what? Successful Jay vs. successful Jay?

When you talk about Jay and Bey, it's what? Successful Jay vs. successful Jay?

Jay has pretty much been on a plateau musically for the better part of a decade. All of his REAL moves are business related.

Did Kanye have a sports agency? An advertising agency with Steve Stoute? A champagne?

Or was that Dame, or Puff, or Swizz?

All this over a perceived "beef" is outlandish to me.

I think the Kobe/Shaq comparison was spot on.

Of course Deucey in here rambling about nothing because Jay so far down his tonsils he can't see or think straight. And did my man seriously liken the little twerp Jaden wearing a batman suit to Malcolm being ambushed in the Audubon? I can't bruh  I will say this though, Deuce you sure do go hard for your man granted he's someone you'll never rub shoulders with. Maybe you could teach your man a thing or two about how to stay down for your boys especially when you owe a part of your musical career to that man. I'm just saying.

More garbage from the garbage men of NT.  Again, YOU are the same dude that got upset and caught feelings because a grown man didn't attend another grown man's wedding
laugh.gif
.  How do you look even getting upset over something like that??  "Males shouldn't be jealous that's a female trait.....

"

Again, as far as the Jaden Smith comment is concerned, if I'm anywhere and some kid pops up out of nowhere in a Batman costume to distract folks I'm certain someone is about to say the infamous "get your hands out of my pocket" line which means gunshots are about to start ringing out shortly, so I would leave the scene immediately if not sooner.  If you want to stick around in a situation like that and get fired on or at repeatedly I say by all means knock yourself out champ.  Matter of fact, @gamble why don't you do all of us a favor and stand directly in front of the gunmen and take one or two for the team.  That way everyone is happy from here on out

Anytime I see someone in a batman costume, I'll be inclined to randomly blurt out "get your hands out my pocket" to let people around me know that I'm so annoyed I'm about to pull out a firearm.....................................................

Nah, I would never wish death on someone, that's something real serious.  That's not how I do things.

Help me understand the logic....

I don't wish death on you but you mind stepping up and taking this bullet for me?

From an outsiders opinion it seems you're bashing someone for being equally as passionate about something as you are. You could even say that you may be a tad more passionate with it.

Meaning if either he or you wants to stick around and face the consequences if someone shows up to an event, or even a wedding in a Batman costume then more power to you and him.  Personally, unless I'm at a Halloween party, if I see someone rocking a Batman costume I know it's time for me and mines to get up and leave cause something bad is about to happen.

Let's get this thread back on track.

Has anything else came from the god level song?
