I really gotta go back to the beat. The beat is horrible. Sounds like something Hit Boy made. I think he wanted a simplistic beat that wouldn't drown the lyrics out, and really make people listen to the lyrics. This is not radio friendly.

to me, the talk of consumerism in the song sound more like him acknowledging that he himself is guilty of it too

he's always admitted that.  Maybe this is what he was trying to do with his rant against "suits" earlier this year but it didn't

work because he seemed to be excluding himself, but I don't get that here

This. Sorta the same angle he had with "Runaway." Acknowledging that he is guilty of the problem too. That humility is what made people open up to Kanye again.

The marketing is genius. The timing just seems a little selfish if you ask me, literally one week before Coles album? but I know all you Yeezy Stan's are going to say "who cares."

Just think about it. Jay is the one man Kanye calls his "Big Brother" publicly. Would you really mess with your big Brothers project like that? Knowing damn well the attention you bring takes the spot light off of everything around you for the couple of weeks your album drops? Just think about it.

But again,
Impressive marketing. Extremely impressive.
Just unfortunate timing for both Cole and Wale considering they both have ties to Jay.

Man, what are you talking about?

Don't worry bro, you're role model will sell plenty of records. We all know that. No need to be so subtly defensive.

Considering Cole pushed his album release back there's nothing selfish about this. Self-sabatoge on Cole's part. He should take a lesson from his peers (read: Drake). Main point: if Cole doesn't do numbers it's not Ye's fault.

As for Wale.....nerd.gif He's better off with features anyway. He would've done the same in sales regardless--Ye or no Ye.

Lol egos are clashing on this thread

Kanye is not going to hurt J Cole and Wale's 100-300k.

The audiences they are going for are not even the same

Power Circle

Bad

New Slaves

One of these does not belong. laugh.gif.

Kanye will sell 500k+ because he's Kanye, and females and hardcore fans will support Cole and Wale.
