There's not really THAT much money in album sales.

Nothing that he couldn't make up from touring and what forth.

Like I said, I doubt it happens, but if it did....

It seems like he's really trying to send a message with what he's been doing. We might have to wait til next tuesday to see.

He doesn't have a radio single or any major plans to put one out.  Radiohead dropped "In Rainbows" for free before selling the physical copies of the album.

I don't realy agree with Ye including him in that list but even then David Stern with the Help of Michael Jordan has Completely took the league to new heights i don't like the man but the NBA has done nothing but grow since he became commissioner.... therefore making him someone who redefined NBA culture.

I'm huge Coel and Ye fan, I would hope Cole would of done that because it would be good look for dude but only if his album reached the expectations I had for it. I was hoping he would drop something along the lines of FNL or the warmup but he fell a bit short, good album, just short of my expectation. Either way, I am copping both to support my favorite artist!!!

And Kanye's base sales #'s START at 100k+.  That's the sort of media attention he commands.

Cole exceeds expectations when he hits 200k.

My point is there are people who don't listen to hip-hop who still know who Kanye is.  There are people who listen to hip hop who haven't heard J. Cole's "big" single.  To imply that Power Trip is going to somehow be the difference and raise Cole over Kanye in sales is unrealistic.

Ye's played one big live show since he announced his album and that has gotten 100x more coverage than anything J. Cole's done this year.
