Translation:

I have nothing of substance to say and you've just hurt my feelings so I'll attack your music in hopes of you being as sensitive as I am.

Try again.
Nah, was just messing around. I'm not one of these Ye stans, he doesn't cut me any checks. Ligthen up geeeezz..

You would think the people that didn't like this album would just express their opinion and exit the thread, but they keep at it. they obviously got kanye on their mind. yeezus is a classic.

The sample used in "On Sight" sums up what Kanye's idea of what Yeezus is to the people:

"He'll give us what we need, it may not be what we want."
I dont need this bull ****

Yo that's crazy thanks for pointing that out

I was like yo the sample is dope but it didn't have a purpose in the song at all lol

Album is decent at best.

Standout tracks are New Slaves, Blood On The Leaves and Guilt trip imo.

That Popcaan sample on Guilt Trip

Thank god kanye aint doin any videos for it...

This will fade fast in da era of fast mixtape releases.

Ya'll are fooling yourselves if you think this album is going to just die out. My inner armchair A&R tells me Def Jam is going to push this pretty hard. Expect the corporate world to try to look in tune with what's cool by using this stuf in a lot of product placements, and I would imagine an actual single or two before the summer is out.

After a whole weekend with the album. I think it is a really good album and am more then impressed.

1. On Sight - great opener
2. Black Skinhead - bangs
3. I am a god - eh...not very good
4. New slaves - not bad
5. Hold my liquor - feeling it
6. Im in it - skip button occurs
7. Blood on the Leaves - masterpiece
8. Guilt Trip - great song
9. Send it up - gets by
10. Bound 2 - great ye beat...lyrics were meh to me but vintage ye

Honestly the only songs i skip are Im in it and some times i am a god. So 8 for 10....not bad and Blood on the leaves makes the album for me. That song goes so hard and has everything.

Listened to the album a handful of times this weekend. First listen I didn't like it...2nd, 3rd, 4th time it grew on me. It's not the Ye we wanted but it's not bad. From a sound perspective it's interesting and songs like Blood on the Leaves, I'm In It, Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Guilt Trip go hard in the car.

People had the same harsh reaction when 808's dropped, still do, but it was so radically different so people automatically nixed it.

After a full weekend with this album I still stand by my oringal statement that its a good album. Every track is good in its own way and its got high replay value with me. I'm In It is like 3 seperate songs to me, all three verses are just totally different from each other.

The internet web critics are buzzing about this album. Rave reviews from across the board. A lot of people comparing this effort to Kid A from Radiohead. Not saying that I agree but I wouldn't say this album is comparable to a mixtape.

You also gotta love the cornered cat mentality, "yea, well everyone has their own taste and their own opinion" Yea once you can't come up with valuable and supporting points to your argument you try to make it unbiased **** outta here.

clowns

what?

music is based on everyone's own taste and opinion.

if you say the album is great, then that's your opinion based on your taste.

if you say it's bad, then that's your opinion based on your taste.

wth are you talking about?

Its a sin to like this album. Had conversation last night about it, the slander was hilarious. Homie had the audacity to say the production was weak.

I can't stand Kanye as a person.

That being said, I love the album. Kanye really got his Trent Reznor Study Guide out for this one. He took so many NIN sounds with this. Not complaining.

I don't even care what he's saying, the beats are hard as hell.

Well if it isn't the king of boring *** instrumentals. Why don't you try recreating one of kanye's beats so you can find some meaning in your life.
i could recreate these beats. but, i wont soil my computer with saving such foul noise and muddle to its HD. i had to delete the kanye album off as soon as it finished playing bound 2. didn't wanna catch anything, safety first ya know.

In contrast to the popular opinion here at NT, it seems like the reviews from the web "music critics" are praising the album. Figures. I'm eagerly waiting Big Ghostface's take on this.
Most of the "music critics" and magazines don't like or respect hip hop. So when one of hip hop's biggest stars goes left they're more than willing to take the ride with him. And its clear that some of you are as well. It's almost a mockery of the culture. Periodicals that have panned Kanye's truest albums are now praising his most contrived. This album clearly isn't an album for rap fans and I don't understand why most of you don't find this to be as ridiculous as a country singer doing a rap album. What credibility does Kanye have in the electro/punk/new wave/dancehall fields he's trying to incorporate his raps into? Where is the accountability in hip hop? Stop talking to me about what I need to do to understand this album outside of the realm of hip hop. It's clear that Kanye believes he has transcended hip hop and that is why we got this crappy album from one of the most talented HIP HOP artists of all time. So again, as I stated earlier in the thread, the question is who else in hip hop would we accept this album from? If the answer is no one then we shouldn't accept it from Kanye. He's not half as special as he thinks he is.
