OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

Off topic, but I was just curious if people are familiar with the song "see me now", it was an iTunes bonus track on mbdtf that i didn't learn about until a year after the album dropped. It's mad dope imo, like the perfect mix of the old and new kanye styles. Beyonce kills it too. I know 99.9% of you probably know about it, this is for the small few that don't.
"I'm Socrates but my skin more choclatey" I'm darkskinned so I always say that  :pimp:

Listen to this album in the whip with the bass turned up

Mannnnnnnn this is a banger!!!!

Blood On The Leaves is that deal and that sample is crazy! I be spazzing when that plays

And the I can't handle my liquor is crazy too that sound between Kaynes bars is a nice touch

And just like true Kanye fashion, the US iTunes version is the true final mix and has tweaks over the physical copy/leak. (i.e. beginning of Black Skinhead. Lupe says the first line now, etc)

US iTunes version > physical CD & the rest of the world's iTunes versions.

A little more polished and tweaked overall.

definitely not his best work but I can listen to this cuz the beats aren't bad, Blood On The Leaves and Bound 2 far and away the best songs on here to me

Hope he snaps out of this mad at the world and weird vibe real soon though

has anyone listen to this baked? no reason...., I think I was attacked by evil spirits, playing this.
I tried over the weekend...completely blew my high.

I will never in my life put this CD back in my changer.

The feelings I have for this album are worse than 808's so....

What happened to just being a cool dude who could make ill beats, spit fire, represent hip hop to the fullest, keep pushing the boundaries like he did with Graduation?

This **** is despicable.

This album is just awful.  "New Slaves" and "Bound 2" are the only songs I can mess with.

The critical praise by the media this album is getting dumbfounding.  It'll be hard for me to listen to this again.  I doubt I will.

Waiting for a Kanye stan with any sort objectivity to admit this thing is weak.

Do we blame Kim for this?

A 9.5??? Usually Pitchfork is pretty legit but a 9.5, c'mon pitchfork, you gave Kendrick 8.5 smh

How many of you who enjoy this album are also Front 242 or NIN fans?

Just curious because this album definitely has an industrial sound.

Huge NIN fan. Said same thing to my boy on first listen of first song that he studying hard off the Trent Reznor sound book.

Thats why I think I like it as much as I do. The keyboard keys on I am a God and On Sight are clearly Trent's sound.

A lot of feelings getting hurt in here on both sides

Is it a great album? I don't think so. Some of the songs have definitely grown on me though. I know one guy in here was wildin out with the "you need to listen to it 13 times in a gondola in the canals of Venice or else you can't appreciate it" but to be honest there is something to be said for growing to appreciate or enjoy things over time. There are COUNTLESS songs/artists who my friends or parents listened to that I couldn't stand or wasn't feeling the first few times I heard them, and years later they are some of my favorite songs. Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, even Andrea Bocelli and Yanni. I used to hate onions and green peppers, now I put them on everything. Point being, you don't have to like something on first listen "(or maybe On Sight, *rimshot*) or you'll never like it at all. That doesn't mean everyone should force themselves to spin it til they like it, but just because the album grows on you doesn't make you a stan.

While I think its less enjoyable of a listen than anything besides 808's I've still been listening to the songs I like. I Am a God is a dope song to workout to, and running late last night to the swirling guitars in Hold My Liquor was :pimp:

Its not the most listenable record and I dont think anyone's crazy for hating it, but its still got some redeeming value to me. Ultimately I would have been a lot happier of he made a record full of songs like White Dress, Eyes Closed etc (which shows he can still make great songs on that vein if he wanted) but I'm not gonna dismiss the whole record just cus he didn't give me what I wanted.
