OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

i never and i mean never agree with needle drop, but son got it right on point this time, and the story of him recording lyrics like a month ago proves it. How can someone do so much great production and lay these lazy bars.

Lol. Kim's baby shower was on the 2nd. So this dude really last minute threw on some lyrics and dudes have the audacity to make up all kinds of excuses as to why this album isn't what it should be.

that doesnt mean anything bruh. j.cole album was delayed six months yet look at what it is
Much more of a cohesive and sonically pleasing album?

I honestly don't get what you mean.

but im tryna be a god so ill stick to ye

I honestly dont even know the names of some of these songs I just let it play.

Sonically its a good album so many WTF sound effects if you have a decent system.

Havent even got into the lyrics that much

told you, Kanye is too good of a producer to have his autotune ruining tracks on this and 808s

but you stans don't want to hear it :rolleyes

also, anyone find it funny that he used Bill Maher's Kim Kardashian joke?

Not trying to come off as pretentious at all, but you NEED to listen to the album in a car that has bass. Listening to it in your iPhone headsets or computer speakers doesn't give the same experience. Not saying it's a great album or anything, it's just it sounds a lot better in a car...you can feel the tracks from underneath you lol

not sure if this was posted yet, stolen from another site

300k for Cole is still incredible. :wow:
That's a rap album, a straight rap album selling 300k first week in 2013 man...think about that. No Kardashian exposure, no Watch The Throne hype, no celebrity status, no rants or Taylor Swift incidents,
Just him his rap album and his fans. 300k.

Moving his date up to be with Kanye wasn't intended to outsell him, it was meant to increase his exposure and sales. It worked.

Both are successful albums.
Congrats to Kanye for another #1 album.
Great week for hip hop :pimp:

I can't take Charlamagne's thoughts so seriously because it's not like this album is a conscious/message album. It's alternative hip hop under a pop music umbrella. It's music meant to have fun with. Kanye is aware of every little thing he says in his songs, why not try to slip some medicine in the candy I can't be mad at that.

I mean...there are three major record labels and their names are UNIVERSAL, SONY, and WARNER. You can't really even try to say something meaningful in your art as a MAJOR LABEL artist without being in some way connected to corporate America. So I can't really fault someone like Kanye as some sorta hypocrite.

he starts off by saying Kanye is a gemini, what? he's obviously trying to put anything he can out there to go against kanye. he's not a fan of anything otu side of hiphop. he is biased. everything he says in the video is irrelevant
this charlamagne guy every time i see someone post some of his videos he's always being negative or dissing someone, that's his job. this is no different.just because he says it doesn't make it true. son trying to sound fake important as always.

So much for Cole selling more

The fact that he even came close is surprising.

no it isn't

big single and his first album was received well. he has a solid fan base. and he's piggy backing off kanye's sales. most people only bought his yesterday cause it was under kanyes album on the shelves.
K.

how is it surprising one of the biggest names in hip hop today to sell 300k the same week as kanye?

What other rap album sold 300+k first week?

Honestly asking.

I'm not too knowledgable of album sales or how much buzz an artist is getting, but I didn't get the vibe that Cole was on fire and his buzz was this crazy.
