OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

Don't kill me but I Wonder is a top 3 song from Kanye. One of his true forgotten gems.

Just for that one song, I like graduation the most out of all his albums.
Thats the best song on that album so I see that, but its admist trash like Good Life, Drunk and Hot Girls, Champion, The Glory, and Everything I am.

I'm not a big graduation fan myself. The only songs i really liked were good morning and can't tell me nothing. Most of the songs were girly/feel good beats that were OK at best to me. It doesn't help that bittersweet was omitted.
graduation is classic though..big brother, flashing lights, da joint w/ primo, etc...thats probably da "hood" kanye west at its zenith before

he got all weird on us...
Man Big Brother was horrible b. Only thing I didnt like about the album

see even da white boy only really loves bound 2...and he listens to EVERYTHING..

now what da stans gotta say about it?

there goes da "well if you only listen to hiphop this album isn't for you" excuse.
...?

He hasn't liked any of Kanye's material since Graduation... He admits to only liking soul sample Kanye.  Why would his opinion (particularly saying Bound 2 is the best song) sway anyone?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for everyone saying Kanye doesn't even write his own verses and they're wack...

Kanye writes whole verses and then raps them to his team and they tell him what works and what doesn't work, and suggest words etc. to replace in the lines and at times suggest entire lines to substitute.  You could tell Ye "say 'all this cocaine on the table' instead of 'all these drugs on the table' it sounds better" and you'll get a writer's credit for the song.

Someone's name on that list doesn't mean they're out there scribbling entire verses.  It could simply mean you helped him work out the structure of the verse by moving around lines without actually contributing anything yourself.

Rick Rubin got an executive producer credit and most of what he did was tell Ye what instruments and sounds to take OUT of songs.

As for people questioning Kanye's rapping/writing ability, Nicki Minaj has said herself that he practically ghostwrote her "Monster" verse with all the work he helped her wih on it, and most dudes here thought that was verse of the year in 2010.

Just sayin'.

I'm telling yall after a few listen it will start to grow on you I hated it at first but track 4 threw 10 is when it starts to slap....

Listened to it a few times and I still haven't changed my mind about it. It's not good to me imo. Guilt Trip is the best track on the album

So I've had various songs of College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation on shuffle for a bit, and wow...Kanye then and Kanye now is comparable to if Lebron snatched his Cavs jersey off in the playoffs and went to fade away in misery on the Bobcats. It's almost embarrassing  It also made me realize that I slept on Graduation a bit. Minus Stronger, Drunk & Hot Girls, and Li_ Wa_n_ on Barry Bonds, that is a very good album.

Yeezus feels like a mixtape, not a complete album compared to his other actual albums. It might be the short length, but the overall feel of Yeezus isn't really complete it's just like random songs put together.

LR>CD>Graduation=MBDTF>Throw Some D's Remix>WTT>>>>>

Yeezus

No J Cole feels more like a mixtape he has 2 recycled beats on it

Outkast - Art of story telling

Tribe called quest - electric relaxation

Cudi's part on Guilt Trip *the feels*

He shoulda just gave that to Cudi. That song would be a lot better if it was just him.

I really like Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Send It Up and Bound 2. Everything else probably wont get played again.

He needs to go back to that MBDTF/G.O.O.D. Fridays sound.

I was gonna post in the Cole thread, but would probably get gasoline poured on me.

Now, Cole is in my top 10 right now, love his music, but....one of his tracks from The Warm Up came on the other day and I could've sworn it was on Born Sinner until I looked at iTunes.

Listening to Yeezus right now, I actually think its pretty dope so far.. Not finished yet, Im 8 songs in.
