I do agree that Graduation was his most commercially accessible album but those first 3 albums are almost like a storybook. Graduation is when kanye stopped being that back pack rapper that wore his polo collar up and became a real staple in hip hop music. It's also the last album that wasn't a dark-themed concept album. It was the perfect balance of the sampled heavy catchy track kanye from yesteryear and the ego maniac sample heavy kanye we have today.

^That's pretty much how I feel about it. That's why no matter how mediocre and bad his recent music has been, nothing can take away from College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation. Those first 3 albums are like prime Kobe and Jordan, and his last 3 (or 4 including WTT) are like Wade in the playoffs. If I never heard any of those again, it wouldn't even matter

DEAR GOD PLEASE DONT PUT KOBE IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS JORDAN OR KANYE.

KOBE IS LIKE NAS' GODSON

1. MBDTF off of the coherent sound, didn't need to skip a track, album was knit together perfectly
2. Yeezus cause I know what it will be 10 years from now, I appreciated it a lot
3. Late Registration, a bit too long with the skits but maintained the same vibe throughout the album
4. Graudaton, like you guys said, very pop-like, but Ye was going for a stafium sound, and achieved it
5. College Dropout, introduced us to what would be the future sound in hip-hop
6. 808's & Heartbreak, liked it for what it was, once again transitioned the sound of hip-hop, made way for todays artists (Drake, Big Sean, Cudi, etc)

Not on the list but:

WTT, overly produced, definitely filled with some anthems, probably could've been a Kanye album based on the production. Jay brought it lyrically which in turn made Kanye step it up too. Could've probably been cut down to 10 songs only...

Cruel Summer, should've been a mixtape...it's like the album was sold based off of Clique and Mercy alone, the rest either sound like G.O.O.D. Friday songs (nothing wrong with that), but shouldn't have been an "album"

Barry Bonds is the worst thing he ever put on a major release. :x

Must be one of those dudes crying for the "old Kanye"

And Flashing Lights alone makes Graduation>> only thing I can put over it is MBDTF

You're THAT obsessed with one song? Fam

Yeezy got a vision that's clearer than Evian

Wayne demolished Kanye on Barry Bonds. And I hate Wayne

Im baffled.

DnHG was 3 years ahead of its time. I HATED it when it first came out. Now its one of my favorite joints on graudation. Get a better sound system

Big Brother is the worst.

There's no way to actually put one Kanye track above another. He's like the Beatles in that you could ask 10 people for their top five tracks and you might get 50 different songs.

As far as his worst, though, that's probably a little easier to somewhat determine.

Its one of those kanye songs that no matter how you feel about him, you like that song.

Was smoking some sour with my girl yesterday and she's one of those "I hate kanye and I think he's gay" types which is comical because I love kanye. I play flashing lights and she says and I quote "I can't lie, this is secretly one of my favorite songs. The beat is so groovy"

I just  and :smokin at the same time

Nah, just not a fan of anything mediocre peddled as great. More power to you if that's your thing though.

what about mbdtf tho :wow:

I see exactly what you guys are saying about Graduation and where you're coming from.

MBDTF is dope. Listened through that today. Sooo nice. His sound, delivery, everything.

Got me all hyped up in "Hell Of A Life" with that "Have you lost yo mind, tell me where you think we crossed the line, no more drugs for me..."

So many hits... Devil In A New Dress... Monster... Power...

LOVE IT!

The way I understood that statement was "like the beatles in that every person likes something different about their music" not in regards to being as big as the beatles.

Oh ok

I read that first part and my rustle levels skyrocketed.

Lol nooooo

Ok I added two little words to clarify.

There's no way to actually put one Kanye track above another. He's like the Beatles in that you could ask 10 people for their top five tracks and you might get 50 different songs.

Not that more than a few cats on here know about the Beatles... but that's a different story. After listening to your drum loops I know you have the classic knowledge. What I meant was that there are so many tracks people bring up as favorites, for both artists. It's not like 50 Cent where "In Da Club" is a lock for one of the top spots.

Nah, just not a fan of anything mediocre peddled as great. More power to you if that's your thing though.

That's a far out opinion if you really think MBDTF is mediocre!

I understand you now family.

I kinda jumped the gun there.

Did you ever get any use out of those loops?

Since we're on the topic, I'd like to get a little more use out of those loops and samples

Peep is very vocal about how much he hates post Graduation Kanye, specifically Yeezus so take that opinion for what it's worth.
