When Beans called him gay he went waaaaay out the way to make sure he didn't say anything that could maybe possibly perhaps even a little bit be taken as disrespectful to Beans. He was on that SMACK dvd wanting no problems. :lol:

He's dead wrong every time he runs on stage or speaks out about someone winning an award, specifically. It's a wack thing to do. And he definitely wouldn't do it to anybody.

It's really interesting how every selfish silly thing he does is depicted as a noble deed by his hardcore fan base.

He wants acceptance from these corporate white folks that don't give a **** about him. At some point these rants get old. Kanye is confused. Him and Jay, they love sitting front row at the Grammys and performing cuz it says they have a certain status but they're smart dudes in the back of their minds they know these people don't want them there so just stop going period. People look down on the BET Awards but maybe if the real big names got involved it wouldn't be looked at as the "Ghetto Award show". When it comes to showcasing black music the BET Awards are pretty much all we got. And it's better than the boring *** Grammys.

the whole "go after real dudes" argument is silly because what real dude is on their level. Name a situation where a "real dude" has ever beaten Kanye at anything.

Y'all don't even see the cultural implications of the Grammy academy constantly slighting artists of color then claiming their work wasn't good enough. People would have burned that ***** down if they gave Iggy the rap award so what do they do? Give it to the next best thing: Eminem. And his album was TRASH.

I'm a Beck fan and his new album is trash! Him winning this award is the same as Denzel winning for training day. Beck deserved trophies earlier in his career and got done dirty because he was the young hippie dude. This go round the academy gave him what they owed him 10-20 years ago and used it as an excuse to not reward Beyonce for what they viewed as a pop album.

Voters long since admitted they don't even listen to the music. They play the albums through once if that and that's it. They vote for names they recognize. Ye sees that and is calling it on its bull ****.

This is the exact same thought I had when I saw AC/DC up there. Yeah, they're legendary, but since the Grammy's didn't recognize that decades ago, they want to make up for it when they don't deserve it now.

Edit: I just looked it up. After a year, a re-release of the album, etc I think Beyoncé is around 5 mil worldwide. T Swift album dropped Oct 27 and as of last month had sold 4 mil in the US alone :x

I want to clarify my thoughts on Kanye's actions at the Grammys on Sunday. First of all, Kanye is my friend. He believed in me years ago when very few did, and I wouldn't be here without his support. That doesn't mean we'll agree on everything, but it does mean that I am grateful to him. And I also believe he is one of the most gifted people I've had the privilege of working with. In my comments to US Weekly, I said that when Kanye walked up on stage, mimicking his interruption of Taylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech, then turned around as if he was just playing, most of the room including me saw this as funny, as a way of taking the piss out of himself for his infamous behavior several years ago.
When I said that was funny and people should lighten up about it, that's what I meant. I wasn't referring to Kanye's comments after the show which I have now seen and heard. I disagree with those comments. Beck is indeed a true artist's artist. He's a multi-instrumentalist, a creative and unique singer-songwriter whose music I have bought and enjoyed over the years. While his win may have been a surprise to many, it's not because he's not a great artist deserving of recognition. All of the other nominated artists, including Beyonce, are incredible in their own right, and arguments could be made for any of them deserving to win. This is not an objective process. It's completely subjective, in fact. We can all debate who we thought should have won. But even if you didn't vote for him, plenty of our colleagues in the music business did. These voters are all creators who love music and have dedicated their lives to it, and the plurality of them chose Beck as the Album of the Year. I respect their decision and congratulate Beck on this outstanding accomplishment.
