OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

He said it was a rant to the people that wouldn't accept him and it was him taking his ball and going home. It's basically the nice way of saying "I gave y'all some BS".

That reads to me like "I intentionally didn't give you what YOU want."

That's interesting though, considering 'Wolves' is more of the same Yeezus-era sound.

And I'm reaching a bit cuz I know dudes in here get sensitive when you talk bad about Yeezus.

But seriously Yeezus always sounded like one big rant. Just a bunch of noise with no real lyrics or message. I've noticed the dudes that like and make excuses for his rants love Yeezus, so it makes sense. And ironically when they asked him about his next album he said "bars" when his crazy fans will make every excuse in the book for his lack of bars lately.

i took the "bars" comment as him just joking around,

i dont know how many times i heard "x" rapper talk about an upcoming project proclaiming it is  full of "bars"

Drake does that all the time

Then we get the album and it's 80 minutes of him whispering gentle nothing's in your ear.

I think it was the consensus that a lot of the lyrics on Yeezus were simplified. I don't know that anyone was arguing there were too many triple entendres on there. I think what people were saying is for the cohesion of the music that didn't matter to them. I will say some of the songs people argue are base lyrically just went over their heads for example, "Hold Your Liquor".

Songs can be well written without being a cloud of metaphors.

The only thing that sounds like an extension of Yeezus on Wolves are the 808s, but he's been using that still of 808s since 808s.

^ tomorrow

Also wonder what the final version of wolves is going to sound like. ye's parts just sound like references currently

New Slaves had no message.....?

Yeezus was a **** you to the music industry. Essentially Kanye saying he was going to make whatever the hell he wanted to and forego the status quo. That is a big reason why I enjoy the album and respect him for making it.

Of course but it's one thing to have simple lyrics it's another to have trash

"I am a god, hurry up with my damn massage"

And that album is filled with **** like that.

New Slaves and Black Skinhead had a message and that's 2 outta 10 songs. I don't even see how it went against the system. It was basically what other rappers do now, lazy lyrics over loud production. Ain't no difference between that album and what Travis Scott does.
