so should he stick to doing things in realms in which he's accepted or try to breakout?

I feel like that's exactly what he's been going on and on about lately

why shouldn't you aspire to accomplish things in other areas other than just what's expected of you

the example he gave in the previous interviews of saying you can call yourself a pimp, a thug, a gangsta

and it's all good it's accepted in rap music, but when you say you're a god, you're Picasso then it's oh no you can't say that

why not?  To minimize it to just wanting white acceptance is missing the point completely imo

who exactly is he trying to please?

He is trying to create a clothing conglomerate in a world that doesn't have anyone similar to him in it. He CLEARLY states that in this interview and you take that as trying to validate himself to whites

The same guy who made crack music, Murder to excellence etc etc do you really think this whole push is to feel validated by whites?

this especially when hes good at it
and thats why he brought up how he was only a producer back in the day and nobody took his raps seriously

what i noticed with a lot of ye haters are either ignorant or just blindly hating

i've seen dude post that trying to appease to white people thing in here througout the thread and it's starting to linger on self hate from YOU fam.

As if it's unreasonable for a black rapper to aspire to jump in this "white man's world" stop trying to do art, fashion, design etc etc.... that's a "white thing" :rolleyes

I'm sorry but all I see is dude trying his hardest to please and justify his actions demographic to people who don't want take him seriously and never will that's a shame
dude shut up and go watch 106 and park then.

#ignorantstatementsbegetignorantstatements

the only thing i don't like about this interview is the point about the grammy's

While i must say i don't agree that it's the best choice of music.... ALL music is selective and while i may think that his projects have been genius and innovative maybe someone feels a dixie chicks album is that for them. In this era your music is gonna be remembered more for the impact rather than the awards it gets.

I just listened to White Dress from the Man With The Iron Fist soundtrack, and it sounded like old Kanye. Due to the negative reaction Yeezus got, I think he may go back to his old style of production for his next album.

Or just continue what he doing now. Experiment with production and what not. I wouldn't mind either way. I loved the production on Yeezus.

But when has Kanye ever cared about what others think?

]If he decides to go back to his old style it will be because he wants to.

And Yeezus was not a bad album, it just got negative reactions because people were expecting MBDTF direction.

But if they'd paid any attention to the singles he was performing/released, they would have known it was far from it.

I still listen to Yeezus on the regular

i think they stated that White Dress was recorded during the MBDTF times. I'd love for him to go back to the old soul sample rap kanye but he's just gonna keep pushing towards something new. He's not gonna look back and go back to an old style.

Welp according to the interview aint nobody getting old ye until he's able to go ape**** in another art

He's been saying for YEARS that he spends little time on music and more on fashion. He can't fall off music wise tho so it's all good.

Thats the media's reaction but the public's reaction was quite different. Hell even MCHG got decent reviews but was slammed by the general public a while after it came out.
