Theyre so called "Promo" version of the CDP 4 but in actuality theyre high grade fakes. Stay FAR away and wait until next year.

Are there any notable differences between the two versions? I don't promote fakes, but it's getting incredibly hard to tell the difference between authentic and fake JB product these days.

From what I understand about the promo 3's and 4's is that someone got a hold of the materials used in the same factories where they were made and made some more outside of the factory. (or something like that) So in essence its the same shoe its just not made in a Nike factory. Don't quote me on that, though.

im pretty sure these were still made in a nike/jb contracted factory, but they are made with a later production date and they are labeled promos. doesnt necessarily make them fake like we used to talk about 3-5 years ago, where there are noticeable differences in shape, materials and construction. they are not licensed to make these shoes under jb's control so they could be considered fakes just in a different way. materials are the same as mentioned before.

honestly i wouldnt pick up anything from these websites that are restocking on shoes over a year old. especially a big release shoe like the 4s.

you will be seeing these promos and restocks happening more often now that these factories are not as regulated before and after retail production

Wait for the 2012 retros dude.
The quality of air jordans has been
Improved since 2010 in terms of
Shape, paintjob and sometimes
material. Even if you still can get
the authentic cdp 4 in black/grey-red
U better wait for the 2012 version!

i agree with all that.
all the shoes from the cdp's were built poorly except maybe the taxi 12's IMO

also wondering why only the cdp 3 & 4 got the "promo" treatment and would nike be willing to comment on these shoes. probably not

I can't understand why the CDP 4's sell for the amount of money they do. When they originally dropped, i bought 2 PACKS. Then, after wearing a pair for the 2nd time, and the paint started to flake off, not crack, i sold my other pack. It ended up selling for $450. i was shocked.

People that desperate for these that they don't care they're some of the worst quality jordans in history?

quality is not getting better im sorry to tell you. jordan brand has been cutting costs left and right and the most recent is the carbon fiber and leather on the concord XIs dropping this december. 2012 will not be any different and from the looks of the wht/cmt ivs its not getting any better. even the blk/cmt 3s are looking terrible.

i dont think you guys who think quality is going up, know what it was like to have shoes before jordan wasted away trying to cut costs. pick up a shoe pre-2003 and ull know what everyone talks about

yeah, but who has money or time to look for some pre 03 jays and is willing to break out a DS pair? try breaking out some 99 heat and not worry about the midsoles crumbling. the days of being able to get these shoes are gone (to an extent) so for people that never got a chance to wear them or know about them its hard to make these arguments off word of mouth. i completely agree that those were the golden days of jordan retros, then they fell off with MOST shoes that dropped. but to say every shoe that came out after that year is just wrong. lets not let a year (i.e. 2003) dictate how we look at "quality". they definitely hit a new low point with the CDP releases, but there were some pretty good drops (dmp xi vi, grape v, aqua 8, retro 10's, 12's, 13's, laser and assorted colors of iv's) did the shoes crease? did the midsoles show year? well, if you wore shoes as they were made to be worn im pretty sure they did. they did slip on overall shape and other minor execution areas that weren't really necessarily though. only thing i can take out of the whole situation is that i'm glad i was around for that era of jordans so i can really see why people take these issues to heart, but seriously they have been dropping some gems these past two years and will continue through next year, too bad they aren't gonna be like "pre-2003" jays as you said. and it really is hit and miss with quality, some have been great, while others have been

its really up to us as consumers to weigh the good with bad when deciding to purchase, if you seriously think the quality is that bad, don't buy.

they have the same thing with spacejams, only way to tell is the cut of the PL is hardly off, they are way to icy, and the ring in the pullout box is too thick, and date on tag

How can they be considered "real"/"authentic" in any way/shape/form if the manufacturer didn't actually produce/give consent for them to be produced?

Hope this gets stopped someday (even though it won't).

So they're made in the same factory, by the same workers, with the same material but didnt get the "OK" from the company to be manufactured or sold so they're fakes????

they're this....which is not fake, if that was da case, da entire katrina jordan series, da all white jordans, da red looking ones, would all be "fake" because they were all made via a promo run
