Starting a new pair of Petite New Standard's and giving my 2+ year old New Standard's a break.

Big thanks to NTer B Fresco for hooking up a rare discount on these. It was nice meeting you last night man

The PNS is just what I was looking for. The tapering from the knee down, smaller leg opening, and 30 inseam are awesome. My NS are size 28 and I got a 29 in the PNS. I think I would've been a little bit better off going with my normal 28 in APC but they still fit fine.
I too currently own a pair of NS and have been thinking of going to the PNS, thoughts? Which do you prefer?

They had a 50% on BF

This.

Copped a pair of Slim 1969 Selvedge in nice wash on BF for $49.

FIt me more comfy than their "Skinny" cut (I own a pair of 1969 in a dark indigo, copped from the outlet, although quality is not as good as years past) and i'd say is closer to a 511.

The SKINNY fit 1969 is somewhere in between a 510 and 511.

Def want to find different washes in the 1969 Slim fit, gotta love them gap sales.

Need to make some APC moves, but need to convince myself that I'm ready for the $100+ jeans. Soon come.

APC Petit New Standards true to size:tongue:erfection. Finally something that fits dudes with big thighs and @#$ without becoming boot cuts

No, I'm not @#$ less and scrawny so I can't do that. I listened to that size down crap for years; yes, the waist stretches out, but the legs barely do! something that people conveniently forget to mention. My natural waist size is a 30. I've literally tried 29, 30, and 31. All of them stretched out in the waist but crushed my nuts and thighs. 32 stretched out with a belt on is perfect for me (natural waist size is 30)

And no I don't wear them baggy

That's how my jeans fit in terms of slimness (not me in the pic btw). Maybe a little bit looser but not baggy.

Anyway, Nordstroms has the Petit New Standard in black online.

EDIT: NVM, it's the regular Petit Standard :smh: Why haven't they made it in black yet? It would save the time and money of going to a tailor

I personally prefer the PNS but it depends on what you're looking for.

I don't mind posting pics of myself wearing both if you want comparison pics.

I've bought three pairs of J Crew 484 recently (black, khaki, and light wash) because I really like the tapered leg and smaller opening at the bottom. The PNS is similar to the 484 in that regard but still leaves a little extra room for the balls/thighs like SFC415 mentioned.

I haven't done any alterations on my NS yet. I sort of want to just take the PNS and NS into the tailor and tell them to make the NS fit like the PNS from the knees down. So basically have them taper from the knees down and make the leg opening smaller, while also taking 2-4 inches in length off. I'd ask them to work along the inside of jeans. The only thing I'm worried about is my honeycombs getting messed up if they take too much off in that area. I did this same thing before where I took a pair of NS and a pair of SupremeXNeighborhood denim in and told them make the SxN fit like the NS. They did a great job. Fit was way exactly how I wanted. But, the fades/honeycombs didn't match up exactly right after and also they worked on the outside edge of the jeans so the selvage wasn't the same after either. It was because of this alteration that I've waited so long to get my NS altered. I wants to make sure that I do it correctly this time and get a tailor who is comfortable working with the inside of the jeans, not the outside/selvage side. Especially since I'm considering getting a slight taper to match the PNS fit.

I know I'm gonna be crucified in here, but dry clean them. That's only if you want to keep them looking new forever though. I don't like whiskers, honeycombs, etc. on my raw denim so I get them dry cleaned. Otherwise just wash them please

So, if I wear a 33 x 32, I should get a size 33 in the APC PNS?

Depends on your body type. Skinny legs and flat @#$? Size down one. Medium-big thighs and @#$ with skinny calves? True to size. Fat/ muscular legs, glutes, and calves? Go with the Rescue instead and get it tailored to your liking

Just curious, if you don't like fading, why do you get raw denim to start out with?

It's not that I don't like fading on some of my jeans, it's just that I like I like the minimalistic clean dark jeans when I'm going for the "dressing up while still being somewhat casual" look, and APCs/raw denim in general are a lot sturdier than paper thin non-raw dark jeans that cost $200+.

Need some advice on which pair to get:

APC PNS
400

APC PS
400

PNS is size 29 (they didn't have a 28). PS is size 28. Dare I say that I could possibly size down 1 because I can button then up ok. What do ya'll think? Thanks!

Damn....size 28? Even back in high school, most of me and my friends were never that skinny. At least we had to get a size 30 and almost 13 years later, I have only gone up 2 sizes.

PNS.
Fong$tarr Fong$tarr I remember when I bought my first raw denim I was a size 27 (112 pounds) and that was when I graduated high school. I am at a size 31 now
