picked up a couple pairs of gap selvage to try out. the gap x gq baldwin 30Wx32L pair was a bit too long if anybody want it for the price i paid + ship.

Can anyone explain to me how to tell if denim I good quality? I've never known how to tell and I want to start buying some nice quality denim. If anyone would rather PM me or post in the thread any info would be appreciated

Just a heads up for other LA fam:
I just strolled by the GAP in El Segundo/Manhattan Beach on my lunch break & they actually still have 1 pair of Japanese Selvedge jeans left on sale in the back. Authentic Skinny and size 34x32. Definitely a huge steal if it's your size and you're in the area. Hopefully someone on here scoops them up.

Just get it tailored. Worth doing since it was cheap.

the second pair of authentic skinnies 30Wx30L actually fit me a lot better without alterations. even though the gap baldwins seemed heavier and better quality.

the gap x baldwins are actually pretty nice. tried them on in store but needed one size larger than they had.

Those Gap X Baldwins are a steal, managed to get both the light wash and the raw for about $17 each, a month back. There should be some more Raw Baldwins at the bigger gap stores in NYC.

People have always griped about APC's quality, as far back as 06 even. IMO APC's strength has always been fit, and they've stayed true to that.

Was in gap yesterday. Saw some selvedge denim marked down to 23 dollars. I think the ones posted a page ago. This was at Columbia mall.

i have never had a pair of levis 505s before, but i see a pair that i like. can anyone comment on how they fit compared to the 511 or 514? how is the rise? thanks very much!

Closest to APC pricepoint are Naked & Famous/ 3Sixteen and Rogue Territory. Maybe Momotaro too; depends.

Momos can easily run double on what you could get a pair of Apcs for, but totally worth it. A bit late into the season for me to get a pair considering most of em are a little on the heavier side, but planning on making a pilgrimage to BiG in NYC to pick up a pair around late aug-sept
For the price price though its hard to go wrong with nakeds, especially the Left Hand Twills

Be specific, there's a ton of Naked & Famous styles. You're telling me a pair of Elephant 2's wouldn't crush APC quality?

Almost every style of N&F is completely different quality because they experiment with so many different techniques & materials. Some pairs actually cost a good amount more than APCs and are better quality.
