I've been going strong on my Flat Head X Self Edge X Ring Ring's.

they're beat. I'll post pics after a wash. 8)

Do u guys ever wash raw denim or just freeze?

Looking to get my first pair of raw but im clueless

I've never froze my denim. lol I only wash. I use to hand wash in the tub. now I just throw em in the wash solo, inside out, with Woolite Dark or Dr. Bronners. Take em out before the spin and let em hang dry. good to go. I'm currently wearing 2 pairs of Flat Head and a pair of '47 Levi LVC.

How can I get rid of that new denim smell? I can't even explain it really. It's like a weird smell - kind of smells like flour, starch, idk.. I just can't explain it but it doesn't smell right

wash em bruh. lol

Thing is I've only worn them like 4 times. I got one pair (forgot where I got them) and they came smelling like that new. The other pair was over time. And when I soak, should I sit in the tub and soak with them or what?

Joints must have ran you a grip! I'm trying to get my hands on the FH 3005 Straight Classics. Only place I'm seeing them is Rakuten.com and there's horror stories about credit card theft on that joint. The search continues.

I'd just roll with it then. If the smell is that unbearable, wash em. I've never sat in a tub in them, but I know folks do that. I just put them in hot water in the tub by themselves.

yeah man, they were 5. most I've spent on a pair tbh. :smh:

:nerd:

I'm wearing a pair of Flat Head 4001 - black right now. These are definitely my best fitting joints.
The 3005 are dope, sucks Selfedge is sold out. I've never copped off Rakuten man. Always lurked, doe.

ddh1122 ddh1122 I think if you just actually wear em and let them break in that smell would wear off. Or let them sit outside to air out for like a day.

I got a pair of raws cuz they were such a steal, but I'm trying to hold on to them for a while because I have a few pairs already in the rotation.

If I store them folded will they fade on the fold lines or am I paranoid

found some Gap selvedge for $8 :smokin
gap isnt the best but cant go wrong for $8

for $8 yeah might as well, Gap jeans never fit me well but the denim quality is decent, tho idk how authentic their "selvedge" is. I went to a Uniqlo for the first time a couple weeks ago and their "selvedge" made me lol

Bought some khaki denim shrink to fit 501's and wondering if they produce the same fades or noticeable wear as a pair of dark denim.

That's uniqlo's new bargain price selvedge jeans. Lower price for crappy quality. I've read that in previous years their $98 selvedge jeans were pretty good. I should've gotten a pair last year.

Scooped a pair of Acne Max light vintage on a sale

Anyone here got 'em and can comment on the fit?

Uniqlo's MIJ selvedge was awesome... check out my pair

Gap is also using way better 13oz Japanese Denim in their new Selvedge Jeans.... much stiffer and seems a lot better than the crap selvedge they sold before

waltthizzney waltthizzney that sucks about uniqlo, seems to be the way of the world tho, people would rather spend 50 on s*** jeans then 98 on good jeans. I'll have to check out Gap selvedge again too, last time I checked it out was probably 2010 and I wasn't feeling it

Check out your local nordstrom rack, 25 percent off of clearance items. Mind had apcs for $50 and $250 super dry Japanese denim for $67 after discount. A few nudies too. Discount ends today

never seen APCs at my nordstrom rack lol, only diesel, joe's, and table after table of true religion

I know this has been asked a lot before, but how would I go about finding a good tailor?

I have a pair of all black Levi's 514 that I want to taper

I just Yelped my tailor. There reviews seemed pretty astounding cause there is a huge Banana Republic near her shop and everyone from there recommends her if they want things altered. I just wanted to make sure she did original hems and she did. It's sort of pricy though if you are doing it to some cheap denim but now i am all about getting things fit properly. I just got some slim fit Levis done and even though they were like $40, with the taper it comes out to over $80. So you can see where it could be trivial doing it but like I said, I can't help it now in getting jeans to fit to my body perfectly.

you want somebody that's up to date on trends, you could find a boutique that has a tailor like Marc Jacobs or even Barney's if you have one near you. if not start in the trendiest or wealthiest part of town and look for a tailor there

picked up a pair of the gap 1969 japanese selvedge denim today

gonna see how they turn out
