Been looking for a pair of light wash selvedge for a while and went in the gap today to find out they had 50% off and I stumbled across the Kaihara slim selvedge in my size. Fit is nice ill probably take them to get a slight taper, anyone know the best method on tapering selvedge? $60 ftw

300

Taper from the inside seam if you don't want to mess with the selvedge line. Railcar does a great job with tapering but will run you more than your jeans. I say just take them to a local denim specialist. I'm sending my Iron hearts to railcar to get the thigh down to the hem tapered.

Repped, thanks for the input

How do they fit though. I have quite a few pair of RRL but no black label denim. I'm not a big fan of black jeans though. They do come out with some nice coated brown denim though.

boxdok boxdok the fit is why they are godly. nice heavy denim too. I like the straight fit but you guys will probably be into the slim, they have a very gradual taper, kinda like a apc petit standard. and their bikers are less then half the cost of Balmain.

they do have blue jeans, tho not that many. I think they're pretty slept on so you should be able to find good deals, I work at a store and we had a once washed raw denim biker style ring up for 84$, retail price 395$

edit: in comparison to RRL, they honestly blow them out of the water imho

At the price point of RRL Black Label, might as well grab some Japanese denim from rakuten/denimio/e2nd lol. I don't think I could ever see myself spending hundreds on Ralph Lauren/American jeans even if the denim was on sale for cheaper. (Well if the price is right there are always exceptions) If the cut suits you, then by all means go for it.

the grey from UO have been sold out for a long time now. a few months.

need some cheap gray jeans.

do your thing but if you care about fit quality or want something other then just raw denim it's something you should check out

Japanese denim is great and all I'm sure I just like to be able to try on my jeans before I buy them

I know they aren't "jeans"

But the Naked and Famous Griffin Selvedge Chino is a nice grey option, I picked up a pair at a very reasonable price and they can easily be found around 75$.

Anybody here a fan of Embellish NYC Denim? Awesome Balmain-styled biker jeans for less than $150 (and even cheaper if you buy them thru Karmaloop). I own several pairs so I'd love to share knowledge with anyone interested :D

How's the fit?

I wear a size 36 in slim jeans but I know those seen to be on the skinny fit side

Yea I've got 2 pairs from Karmaloop and 2 pairs from the actual Embellish site. Quality is on point and the fit is super nice :smokin

I'm a 32 in every pair of pants I own but I'm a 34 in these (I'm 5'10, 165lbs) You DEFINITELY wanna go up a size in these. I was told that by several other ppl before I got my first pair and it even advises you to do that on the site. And in my opinion, the fit is right in between slim and skinny lol. Definitely plenty of room in the man area but a lot more tapered around the calf/ankle area so they fall nicely right behind the tongue of your shoes. The owner of the brand is this big 6'2, 225 pound black dude and he fits into them just fine haha.

Feel free to PM me for me info

Embellish or Represent co. biker jeans better?
Never heard of Represent Co. until you just mentioned it. Went and looked it up and they have some dope jeans too. Speaking from experience with Embellish, I'm not sure if anyone can match the quality material that they use. But I really like the different color options that Represent Co. has to offer. I'm a big fan of Embellish's different ripped patterns though, which it looks like Represent doesn't offer. From first glace though, it looks like they may be pretty close to one another in terms of which is better.
