go with gap or unbranded, uniqlo "selvedge" is not what it was back in the day when people used to praise it
Back in the day they were made in japan so quality control was better but it's not like the current ones are bad.  I have felt both gap and uniqlo selvedge denim and they're pretty similar, the gap selvedge being much more stiff but the two are near identical.  Also uniqlo has free in-store hemming if needed.

picked up a pair of nudies and gap raw denim.. never thought id say this but id take a pair of gap raw denim over apc's, especially at the price point. Regret ever buying apcs

I'm an amateur in regards to good denim. Can't seem to find that perfect(to me) fit. I'm not in that 30 inch waist category(I'm a 36), so it's kinda difficult for me to find the fit ive been searching for.

All of the jeans up around the 36-38 range all seem to have too big of a leg opening than what I prefer. You smaller men have it so made in regards to fashion.

Can any of you guys point me in the direction to some good entry level denim that's not skinny jeans, but have that small leg opening that Im talkin about? It's quite easy to find amongst skinny jeans, but I'm 6'3 225lbs. Skinny jeans and I arent a match made in heaven.

A picture for reference.. light, dark, black. Doesn't really matter. Just looking for a few brands.

what makes the difference between one raw denim and another, quality wise?  take for example, an indigo raw denim.  every brand would have this.  but what sets them apart?  is it the stitching, riveting, etc.?  i always hear people talking about japanese raw denim being high quality.  what makes them better quality then apc's or low priced jeans like unbranded?

black label is a different line then RRL. by all means stick with your exotic overseas denims bro, just giving people options
Same here, trying to give people more options too. It's just that I think the Black Label price point is taxed. The Black Label denim basically mimics raw denim and it's exotic as well as it seems to be "imported." I'm just extremely biased with raw denim as I have yet to see anything with similar quality from non raws at a similar price. I do realize few people are actually into raws, but ****, they get better with age! I consider raw denim to be a timeless piece of clothing as all these washed/predistressed jeans are inspired by them in some shape or form. Until jeans go out of style that is...

Would a 6.0 inch taper be too much? I have decent size quads I don't skip leg day lol but I don't work on my calves and they're pretty skinny.

I'd imagine pants with a 6" taper would be a b**** to take off

I'm kinda in the same boat, bigger thighs skinny calves, I have some pants that are tapered to 6" and I like them a lot. For denim though, I usually go 6.25" or 6.5"

chicken legs u mean? LOL

dude. yall need to just try a size and go from there.  the cutting affects everything, and a slight taper shouldn't be an issue for most sizes.  you're not gonna have jeans out of proportion.  stick w/ the waist, rise, and use the cut as a general guideline.

6" is a very aggressive taper. Really depends if you are a skinny guy, and also what your shoe size is because it could be difficult to get your foot through the hole (pause).

Leaning towards a 6.25 now guys I'm not really skinny I'm like 5''9 165 to 170 my foot size is 10.and I just measured my joggers it was a 5.5 lol.

You gotta jump into them like a female

I have a pair of Gap raw's that I like very much, but why the APC hate? Just wondering...

Joggers =/= denim. Unless you got some elastic cuffs on the bottom of your jeans it's gon be tough as hell getting 6" tapered jeans off and on

you should probably go to someone that has experience altering jeans and will fit them to your leg

arson09 arson09 you want jeans with a tapered hem. try apc petit standard. lots of brands have tapered fits now tho, others can tell you more

 Hahahaha ya'll got me rollin with all this talk about getting into your jeans. I can't even lie though, I can't just slip in and out of most of the jeans I wear nowadays (slim legs but big feet). No jumping though! That's a no-no
