Does Chris Webber Belong In The Hall of Fame?

Webber will get in... He had a good NBA career, but what he did at Michigan will get recognition as well.

Oh... & Iverson is a lock.

However, if players were inducted solely by their averages the hall of fame would become less prestigious. Thats why players Mitch Richmond (no. 35 on the all time scoring list), Allen Iverson (no. 17 he might make it one day though), Jerry Stackhouse (no. 88), MIchael Finley (no.71), Antawn Jamison (no. 59), Glen Rice(no. 56), VInce Carter (no. 36),  Cliff Robinson (no.40), Juwan Howard (no.89), Tracy McGrady (no.59) will never make it to the hall.
To get inducted a players has to have a big impact on the league, several deep playoff runs (not necessarily a ring which JOhn Stockton, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone dont have and are inducted). Thats why players like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Shaq, Kobe, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, TIm Duncan (obviously)

will be inducted. Im not sure if  players like Gary Payton (no 26) & Paul Pierce (no 30) will be inducted. Like I said you cant induct every good/almost great player in the hall.

Quality and informative reply

if there's a hall of fame for black socks, then he's in
but really, I want him to be in but I am not so sure because Webber wasn't exactly an 'impact player'. Never really had a national team career, pro career was decent overall and I bet he brushed lot of people off (*cough* writers *cough*) when he was in college and some of those people still can be salty over that

will be inducted./

MVP (show me a player who won this award and isn't in the hall)
Numerous Scoring Titles
Lead a bum @$% Sixers squad to the finals
Countless All Star Appearances
Impact on the game is as big as any player not named Jordan

Based solely on what he's done in between those 4 lines... there's no might about his induction.

EXACTLY

if there's a hall of fame for black socks, then he's in

I havent owned white socks in well over a decade cause of him

To even consider the possibility of Gary Payton not making the Hall is sheer lunacy. He gets in on defense alone.

This.

i think yes

he just never lived up to his expectations of becoming one of the best power forwards of all time. he had the talent and was incredibly versatile but just never really got to his ceiling. nonetheless, i think yes. hes not a surefire, 100% lock, but yeah, i think he gets in

Basketball Hall of Fame is not just based on NBA stats and achievements. Webber was a beast on Michigan, won ROY, made the Kings a contender, and dated Tyra Banks. I think he gets in.

AI, GP and Paul Pierce (the title automatically put him in) are locks. Cwebb I'm not so sure about. He may get in but likely not first ballot.

I would've said na a couple years ago. But since Chris Mullin got in, I'd have recant on that and say he's got a shot.

%$$# no. %$$# a Chris Webber. %$$# a Billy King for making that trade and obliterating the Sixers cap space with Webber's contract and ruining the last of Iverson's prime years.
