Does Chris Webber Belong In The Hall of Fame?

This is a tough one. I've always debated this question myself and right now I would have to say yes, EVENTUALLY. Prolly not a first ballot HOF'er but will get in eventually.

How? College achievements, Olympic Gold Medals, NBA achievements, career stats, and I definitely think he had an impact on how people played basketball.

And no, I don't think Webber deserves to get in, but I think he will. (Not first ballot)

I'm not saying it's not true, but can you expound on the bolded statement?

will be inducted./

MVP (show me a player who won this award and isn't in the hall)
Numerous Scoring Titles
Lead a bum @$% Sixers squad to the finals
Countless All Star Appearances
Impact on the game is as big as any player not named Jordan

Based solely on what he's done in between those 4 lines... there's no might about his induction.

AMEN

the iverson hate on this board is atrocious.. people forgot how great iverson really was..... lets not forget that every top tier young pg in the league looked up to iverson when they were younger, iverson is a top 5 pg all time imo...

edit: my man c-webb should get in, but because of the michigan scandal idk when/if he'll get in...

*I WISH he stayed in DC...one of the worst trades ever.  Do yall even know what the return was?  An over-the-hill Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe.  Think about that

That was the beginning of a string of stupid trades for nothing in return....Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton all shipped off for garbage.  Now do you remember why CWebb was traded from DC?

How could you say no? We saw him play every night and how HE resurrected this franchise, and what happened to it after he left.

I would like him to get in... but looking at all the HOF snubs thus far I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. If he does I think it will take a couple of years. And idk how or if the Michigan scandal will affect him.

You still in Indiana back when Webber was good?

On topic, I hope yes.

CWebb is one of my favorite players of all time, but I'm not sure if he gets in.

Someone mentioned him being "the guy" on every team he played on -- but was he ever dependable in the clutch or did he ever lead his team anywhere? Mike Bibby led the '02 Kings team in terms of executing when it mattered, without question. Chris always shrunk down the stretch every other season.

While his two years at Michigan were undoubtedly impactful and impressive, I also worry that the voting panel will hold the fact that his college career was vacated against him.

To me, his pro career was definitely a disappointment, given the pure skills he has. I just have a feeling he won't get in.

On the subject of HOF...I'm still trying to figure out how Reggie wasn't even eligible for a vote?

I love CWebb and he's one of the best PFs ever but his tendency to shrink in big moments should keep him away from the Hall. He was never the type to take a game into his hands when it counted. He didn't have the hunger.

I guarantee your referring to that game 5 shot he hit....you know the one where CWebb set the pick for him to get open.

His stat line that game:
29 Pts, 13 Rbs, 3 Ast, 12-23 Shooting

Series Average:
24.2 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 6.4 APG, 1.4 BPG, 1.0 SPG, 51.4% PCT

Yes I'm mad, and yes im going HAM because he's my favorite player of all time. (Well tied with Mitch Richmond)

**edit**
I'm not fronting on Mike Bibby by any stretch. Dude was easy money in the clutch. I just wish C.Webb didnt get dogged so much...
